cad
i'm learning autocad basic, any one else here draws/ designs parts for rc?
|
I think there is one person, but not sure who he is. he is designing his own racer i guess. Can't remember his name though.
|
jagboy is the guy you are probably thinking of, neweuser. He uses Solidworks, and I've also done some Solidworks modelling.
|
I'm designing my own frame on autocad2006 and inventor 9.
the frame is based on revo parts and is desinged for a center diff and 16 cells. here's a sketch of the frame (still in designing fase). http://foto.modelbouwforum.nl/albums...20prt%20sc.JPG |

here are a few more recent pics, don't mind the collors:005:
I'm still waiting on some money for buying de motor and center diff so I can make the drawing completely finished. shall I make a new topic in the revo department? http://foto.modelbouwforum.nl/albums...naamloos~0.JPG the underside of the frame http://foto.modelbouwforum.nl/albums.../naamloos1.JPG |
damn good work, remie.
i wish i was at that point already. i can now draw a square and thats it.:026: |
Looks an awful lot like the Gmaxx. what is the weight of it?
Nice work, don't get me wrong! but it looks relative heavy |
I was thinking the same thing, but it could be just the views. It would depend on the thickness. But it's nice.
|
I would personally take less thick material. the gmaxx lower plate is about 2.3mm thick. which is strong enough to hold batteries. You will be surprised how much a total assembly will weight. not kidding.
The batterystraps; take cups! i don't know if you did measurements on cells you have got? but gp3300 are different than 3700's and so on.. I hate the slots for the batteries, you are better of with a tub kind of thing that holds the batteries. |

yes I did the measurements on cells I got (sanyo 3600).
inventor says that it weights 0,159kg, I think I measured it on the wrong way?! |
Yeah, most likely.
Can you determine the volume of the used aluminum? it will weight much more than 159 gramm. :) My guess is about 700-800 gramms |
