power output

would there be any device that could measure amp draw, voltage and stores it in a memory so you can check it out on your pc/ laptop?
i mean something you could put in the car?
many thank guys.:027:

BrianG 12.24.2006 02:24 PM

Yup, sure is: http://www.eagletreesystems.com/MicroPower/micro.htm

jollyjumper 12.24.2006 03:41 PM

sweet, thanks brian.
do you plug it on the battery then?
i dont find that info.

BrianG 12.24.2006 03:45 PM

Yeah, there is a set of Deans on it where you plug the batts into one and the ESC into the other. It measures current and voltage over time and creates a plot on your PC. You can also get other sensors like RPM and temperature to monitor those too.

Pretty sweet device really. It's definitely one of my future purchases...

jollyjumper 12.24.2006 04:06 PM

so, it handles 100 amps and goes inbetween batts and esc.
does that mean it limits your system to 100 amps?

Serum 12.24.2006 04:22 PM

No, you can read out peaks of 150A with ease. the 100A is continues. It's a series module, so it needs to handle the power that is going thru it.

jollyjumper 12.24.2006 04:26 PM

thanks guys.
other question:
8 kilo car, suggest me a motor?
just thinking really, would be with 6s lipo.
also esc, wich you guys would pick for this task?

Serum 12.24.2006 04:33 PM

8kg!? give it the weightwatchers program..

:p

a 1950/2230 wouls serve a good job.

depending on the speed you want to reach, a wanderer XL is capable of pushing it around too

jollyjumper 12.24.2006 04:47 PM

thanks rene!
2230 would have more torque i assume?

Serum 12.24.2006 04:56 PM

Actually; No, the 1950 is a tad stronger and can handle slightly more power.

(on paper)

BrianG 12.24.2006 05:41 PM

Wow, over 17 lbs! :dft002: I'd definitely see where you could shed about 3-4 pounds...

jollyjumper 12.25.2006 06:39 AM

all i could think of would be lighter wheels.
but the ones on it are :043:
maybe ditch the nitro tranny and build a slipperential?!?
on 3 speed trannies, can you brake on your motor or do you need mechanical brakes?

Serum 12.25.2006 07:23 AM

What vehicle is it?

with a 2 or 3 speed, you need the mechanical brake.

coolhandcountry 12.25.2006 09:57 AM

Do you have pics of this car?

jollyjumper 12.25.2006 10:15 AM

i'm really just thinking about this, i'm not sure on anything.
car would be a cen gst 7.7.
