540 Xl size
 

What is the 540 XL size in a Lehner motor? I have a XLT7 Nemesis which I think is a 8 turn motor. I'm looking for something much hotter (higher KV). I'm looking through all of the motors on Mikes site and can't make heads from tales on what I want. My current motor is running on 4S and is OK. On 5S it was outstanding.

I'm looking for a new motor that would be crazy on 4S and fast on 3S.

This is for a LST2 with maxx size tires.

Must fit a 540 size can, that's how I have it mounted. Exterior motor mounts.

Also New motors, same ?

What about going with a 540L size motor. The Feigo 8L is a 3100KV motor and very cheap.

I'm running a 5700 Mamba Max "S" size motor in my sons Emaxx and it's almost as fast as my LST. Is a XL size really needed?

You're running a 5700 in an emaxx??? Doesn't that get hot? I would say no smaller than an "L" size, preferably an "XL" size, for cooler operation. The 5700 is, or close, an "S" size. Those are all 540 diameter (although I hear the Mamba Max motors use a 380 size rotor), but the length will give you more torque.

Oh, and your question about a Lehner "XL" size, that would be either the 1940 or 1950...

What would be a very hot motor in L or XL size to run the LST2?

mambamax 5700 in an emaxx? How is that even working? Doesn't make any sence at all.

Works great and on 3S is about the same speed as the Revo 2.5R I had. With the lowest gearing possible it will still get 40-45 mph in high gear.

I don't know why you think it couldn't work. It made my B4 uncontrollable even at 60mph it had enough to flip over with a stab of the throttle.

You must not realize how much torque the MM motors can produce.

It is odd, since an emaxx is almost 2 times the weight of a B4...

How hot did the esc/motor get?

Did you have a radar on that b4 or emaxx?
What temps was you getting with emaxx?

No radar for speeds just guessing. I usually only run 7.2V NiMh batt's in the Emaxx because it's for my 7 yr old. It doesn;t get hot on 7.2V but the motor gets pretty hot on 3S in high gear. It's never thermalled yet. We usually just run around the yard in deep grass.

I ran my 5700 on 66/12 gearing in an e-maxx. With MY OLD I.B. 3800's 6cell first then 10 cell it was ok, not real punchy, but not bad, but the batteries were getting warm. Then tried 4200's and wow the little motor would jump the truck clear over on it's top when it got traction, even taking off in 2cnd. 10 cells playing in back yard (short grass) would bring the motor up to 140-150F. This is on 40-50F days, often taking off in first and shifting quick. Speed was calculated for ruffly 41mph if the battery would recover to 11.66 volts before running out of room.

Just amazing.

I'm not trying to recomend the 5700 for anyones next big project. I already had it, and just had to try it. It did suprisingly well, but on 10 cells on a hot day, race conditions, or a wheel bearing (anything dumb) goes wrong it would likely bake itself. Just wanted to second JB3231's son's 7.2v setup.

Wow! Sounds like the stock mamba 5700 can take a beating! And handle some serious weight ; seems to be the ultimate 1/10 Stadium truck and buggy controller/motor combo, thats why i got one in my B4 :)

It was great in my B4. I just didn't want to buy another motor for his Emaxx. I will eventually buy him a XL or XLT size motor later on when I biuld my 1/10 4wd buggy. I'm looking at the Kyosho Lazer right now. When I finally decide to buy it I will put the 5700 and 3s in it.

I'm also using the lowest gears I could find in the Emaxx and that help alot. It makes low gear very low and I don't let him use high. He can't drive that will yet.
