Traxxas Big Bore VS Pro-Line Power Strokes.

Ok guys. Money aside since thats a given. I would like to know the pros and cons of each. The Power Strokes look pretty dang nice. I'd like to hear from some of you that have tried both. How well to the Power Strokes hold up to bashing? Which ones have a tendency to leak the most? I am having a very hard time trying to decide which is actually going to be better for bashing and ramping.

Both are good and durable shocks. the powerstrokes are one of the best shocks available, they are well built, tough and don't leak.

But so are the big bores, the bigbores are cheaper to replace (and easier to find, since the powerstrokes are obsolete at shops, and only available for about 240 dollars per set from proline. (excl. mounting hardware)

i am missing the UE supershocks in your list. What is wrong with these?

Both of the shocks are familiar for their non-leaking behavior, but the powerstrokes use thicker shafts and use the rubber condom to keep dirt out.

Prolines weight more too. (i thought it was about 70-80 gram more for 8 shocks)

Well I think he was trying to say is that the ue shocks are great as well.
I Have tried the big bores and ue shocks. I think the ue handles a little better
I run the ue shocks on my stuff. It would depend on the shock tower to.
The ue is a little longer so the use of after market towers are needed.
I got a set of proline bypass with a buggy front shock. I think that is
a great combo.

Any chance I could get a link? I'm not sure what you mean by the ue shocks.

Look for the supershocks. They are one of the very best shocks for monster trucks!!!

4 of them would be enough. But you would need other shocktowers to use them. Otherwise you need a serious hackjob to make them fit.

coolhandcountry 12.28.2006 10:54 AM

Mike sells them as well. So you can buy here.

hyperasus 12.28.2006 01:19 PM

They do look nice. Nice price too.

Will they work on RPM towers?

coolhandcountry 12.31.2006 08:15 PM

I have used them with rpm towers and stock arms.

I personally like the bigbores. Because they are good looking, tough, have nitrate pistons, and you get 8 for the price of 4 of the ue ones. but it all depends what you like on your truck 4 shocks or 8 shocks.

hyperasus 01.01.2007 02:07 AM

I plan on jumping......so definitely 8 shocks. I mean....I'm not going to jump this truck

LOL. I ment. I'm going to try not to jump this truck. At least for the first five minutes. Then who knows.
