Looking for a better system
I have the novak 4.5 in an e-maxx and run it with 14 cell, IB 4200.
I see the Warrior 9920 Brushless is on sale, my goal is to get a new system that has more power, and faster then the 4.5. What would I need to get in order to do this? |
hi!
First a warm Welcome! For 14 cells in an e-maxx, i would pick a 7XL or an 8XL. the 7XL will have even more power, but less runtime. The 8XL will have slightly less power (still incredible, don't get me wrong) With both motors you are ready for some upgrades to your drivetrain soon! |
7xl gets my vote. 8xl is right behind.
Welcome to the forum to. |
Yeah i like 14 cells on the 7XL on both a buggy and an e-maxx
|
Any idea on top speed with this setup?
|
40-45 mph with ease.
|
You could go more cells with the 8xl. More cells = more power = More speed
capabilities |
What gearing should I use? Will I need a fan setup?
Thanks for this info, a big help!! |
Check Brians speed calculator. it's a sticky in the brushless section.
aim for about 35 mph to start with, and go from there. |
ncalenda, welcome to the forums!
I'm in a similar spot with brushless choices. i have an extended chassis emaxx and will be running 16-GP3300 cells, a Warrior 9920, and either a Feigao 8XL (C-Series) or a Lehner 1940/8 HA. It should prove to be a stout combo. Wish I could come to terms on the Lehner vs Feigao. The extra $190 for the Lehner is tough. |
You don't have got noticable more power with the 1940. it will heat up less, but the 7XL on 14 cells is in the save zone.. I used mine without fan.

Not sure I can intepret what you just wrote. The Lehner does or does not have noticeably more power? Do you think 16 cells is a bad choice? Should I plan on 14 instead? |
A 1940 is smaller than a 7xl.
|
U mean shorter in length or smaller in diameter?
How is power output? I'm deceiding between the 8XL w/16 Cells, 7XL w/14 cells, or the equivalent lehner. I would rather spend the money on something else right now and upgrade to a MMM & NEU late next year but if the Lehner is significantly better I might spend the money. and floating around in the back of my head is 12-cell/Mambamax/7XL or Lehner 1940/7 |
If you want a good motor. I think the lmt 1950 is a great motor. I wouldn't
trade a lmt for neu. Put the lmt on the mmm and run it. Just the turn you want is up to you. 1950 7t should go great. |
