How your LIPO's Last long?
I mean in all time not runtime.
Is it worth to buy and pay for descent lipo pack $300 and after some time u realize that your Lipos accepted much less charging cycles than NiMH and less mAh before they started to die. I have couple questions: how ur lipos died? is it external physics damage? overcharging? overdischarging? How your lipo last long? How many aprox. charge cycles and how many amps they accept now and before? |
I have had my lipos for about 6 mos. They almost seem like the have more power than before, could just be me.The runtime is the same and I have a lot of cycles through them.It is the best money you will ever spend, the runtime and power is staggering compared to regular batteries.Do it!

I've had my Thunder Power packs for over three years! Well over 300 runs. They just recently all "puffed" with in 3 months of each other (six packs of 2S4P 8000 mAh). I also have two 4S4P TP packs that are almost 4 years old with about 200+ runs that are still in perfect shape.
I sent them back to TP and they are replacing them at 50% off list price. I would highly recommend LiPos for longevity, and TP for performance and company customer service. The newer packs have balancers which should make the packs last even longer. |
I lost a pack but I think it was more me than the packs.
Make sure you have a lvc set right on system. Make sure you have a lipo charger and right settings. If you balance them. YOu will have longer performance from them. |
any idea the best lipo packs for an 8xl with the warrior 9920 controller?
|
it depends, there are many types of lipos that are good. it all depends on the type of pack and the amount of run time ect...... 2s4p pack would be fine on a set-up that you specifyed. if your running two batts then a 2s2p if 1, then a 2s4p

ya, I would want to get the best for my setup, I do run 2 packs.
|
yea, my mistake.
then a 2s2p would be good, a 8000mah pack would be nice. |
I spend a hours sitting and surfing on net/forums, RCUNIVERSE and RCGROUPS. And seems lots of people dissapointed in Maxamp lipos.
I thought to buy 10000mah 4s cells they cost more $200 and i am realy scared to buy them after reading topics. LIPO's looks to weak Discharge not lower than 3V better hard cut on 3,2V Actual claimed rate may ruin cells so to run those cells twice lower than claimed rate, i can exept longer cell life Storing cell in charged state can be result of puffed cells If cell go hotter than 37C~99F shorten cell life After all those facts lipo's is very delicate it will not forgive mistakes. i want to someone convince me that is all not so terrible :) Is there anyone who tried those cells? |
I know 1 racer that uses 6000mah 2s2p lipos in his 4wd buggy and has had NO problems for over 4 months, and he wasnt driving light, either.
I took the step to lipo , 4s2p 8000mah for my 1/8 truggy, and 6000mah 2s2p lipo for my B4. |
