Revo spur/ E-Revo Kit Questions
1. Is there any way to use a revo spur on the gmaxx single speed conversion. And if so how can i do it. 2. will this work with the gmaxx motor mount and a motor. 3. does the E-Revo kit (on RC monster $595) come with a motor mount and if so which one gmaxx motor mount or emaxx one. 4. how much lighter is the slipperiential than the single speed conversion estimate. 5. do you have an estimate on when the slipperiential will e out for the E-Revo. 6. is the top gear shaft for the gmaxx single speed cut for you. 7. Lastly do the stock diffs hold pretty well with brushless. (meaning they should work for a while not for ever but i can run on them untill i get metal cups.).

1)Possible, but wont be too durable, just take the strobe with ofna (51T) spur.
2)Imho, stick with the stock motor mount, BUT, if you run the motor on the side (lower COG), the g-maxx mount will be fine. 3)It comes with the stock motor mount. 4)Its over 100 grams lighter, plus you lose the shifting servo so a little more.. 5)A couple more months since its still in testing stage (dont take my word for it). 6)No you have to cut it yourself, it can easily be done with a dremel or saw. There is also a pin holding in the gear, which is junk, id take it out and cut up a hardened hex driver and put it in there (very durable). Atleast thats the way i did mine since the stock cheesy "pin" ripped out. 7)They can run for a pretty long time, but id reccomend running them till the bulkless comes out than get the HB diffs.. Aluminum cups are stronger than stock but eventually wear out. |
(Post 500) thanks so is there anything you recommend replacing besides what you listed to have a race ready/bashready revo(for examlple on the maxx it was the steering servo it cam with) i mean on the roller any part on the roller that just plain it horable and needs to be replaced. Also is there a huge difference in performace between the g1 speed conversion and the slipperential(becides weight and lower cg). Thanks

There wont be much of a weight difference in the slipperential and Tranny.
Some things that MIGHT possibly break are the pushrods/hingepins/turnbuckles. Id reccomend some JDcarbon ones as they have all of these at a very affordable price! Less than 100$ shipped for 4 turnbuckles, 4 pushrods, and 12 hingepins. Also arms, the stock ones will last, but in a hard crash they will break, id get front RPM arms with traxxas extended arms in the rear (or Tekno arms). |
what about the slipperential differences compared to the g1 single speed besides lower cg and weight. I am a basher and racer but not a hardcore racer will i notice a huge difference if i swhich from g1 to slipperiential.

I pretty much new the pros and cons of the slipperential just making sure it was the same concept for the revo. BTW is there a way to make wheeles happen not as often on the revo.

If you go center diff. It is hard to make wheelie unless thick oil.

is there any way to not eliminate but cutdown on the amount of wheeles mt revo does with the g1 single speed conversion besides changing electronics just like wieght shifting and thicker or lighter oil or other kinds of things.

Just a few hopups I would go with...Get the GTR shocks, red aluminum pushrods and turnbuckles, aluminum diff cups and cases, RPM front arms, Tekno rear, RD Racing aluminum knuckles and 8mm axle kit...

I'd say stick with the stock steel suspension rods. I have had alumnium rods on mine and broke them on a mailbox at about 35+. with my steel ones I had to tap them out with a hammer at the end of the day but they never broke and i was able to finish the day

depending on your timing... wait for the the g2r version of the slipperential. I read on here somewhere that the 1/8 diff conversion for the revo was soon to be released. (weeks, not months). That is the number one worth while upgrade IMO. I think I have rebuilt my rear dif at least 10 times in the last 6 months.
