Best hard pack track tires?

I'm looking for a good track tire for my revo. I have been taking my revo out to the local indoor track (good size for an indoor track) cuz running outdoors in the winter really sucks around here. Anyway. I am starting to really like the whole track thing and Im thinking I need to makes some changes to my setup to get better handeling. But Im not sure what tires I want. I am running offset rimms right now, but being an indoor track it makes the corners kinda tight. so Im going to get a set of standard offset rims. But what are good tires to use on a hard pack track surface. I do know that in 1/8 buggy the Panther Switch 2.0 are the hot setup if that tells you guys anything.

The guys running revos seem to be all over the place though. Its more like a bunch of bashers with random tires that are running indoors for the winter. So I havent been able to get a good read on what works for that kind of surface. Id sure apreciate some recomendations from some of you that are smart in the tire choice area.

How about the Proline MTR Holeshots? That's what I'm thinking of getting to use at the local indoor 1/10 track.

i would use some sort of bowties or crimefights or the revo responce wheels or something on those lines

get the crimefighters (MTR)

Yeah, small tires are better than wide tires.

40 series are bad when anything is hit when sliding sideways.. Makes the truck doing things you don't want to...

are you runnig 14mm hex 17mm or 23mm?

Sylvester 01.09.2007 07:07 PM

Imo id either take MTR Holeshots or Revo responces.. Should be awesome for a hard track!

Im' just planning on using the proline 17mm white dishes. They will be track only tires.

I was thinking about the holeshots, but will those small pins be gone in 20 laps?

Sylvester 01.09.2007 07:25 PM

They will last more than 20 laps...

Id keep a second set handy, but they will handle like a dream on a hard packed track.

What about foams?

What foam hardness do I want. Soft or Med for hard pack? I'm guessing soft, but what the hell do I know...

I was thinking these

or these

on these wheels.

Personally id take medium since it isnt to soft which will make the truck feel a little bouncy. Take the medium, the rims you listed are good.

crimefighters ftw! i have a set on my revo (23mm ones) .. so good grip, i cant back flip or spin out on grass.

Thanks.

Medium is what I always get. Just cuz I don't know any better and medium seems like it is... well....medium. Turns out the default is the default for a reason I guess.

I didn't get that....

What's is ftw! ????

Grass is way different than hard pack. You should try the mulchers on grass. That is ridiculous. I was tearing up diffs and CVDs like crazy with those tires on grass. The traction was out of control.

Mike.L 01.09.2007 08:57 PM

yea what is ftw?
