Beef up driveline on e savage
 

i have an e savage and i am going brushless, with the increased power i want to beef up my axles and drive shafts. is aluminum the way to go or not, also i need to know where i can get the parts i am not having any luck finding anthing.

any imput would be great.

best think you can do is try to get some aluminum cups/diffhousings (if they are available)

A centerdiff would help too.

you didnt scare me but i already blew a knuckle on one of my driveshafts just with the stock set up and i hate being down so i thought while i have it apart i should make it a little stronger.

No, not really.. Normally GPM jumps on the copy-mood with any vehicle, but i'm not sure if they did this with the e-savage yet..

e-savages are not very popular here. perhaps you can try searching on google?

driveshafts should be steel for maximum strenght. or titanium for small weight and decent strenght but not alu. unfortunately esavage/ezilla does not have many aftermarket parts

shouldn't they be the same size as a normal savage?

Don't know how a Savage is set up, but would Revo sliders work? They are cheap, strong, and adjustable. It's just a matter of them fitting on the tranny and diff outputs...

what about the axal carriers who knows if it would work?
i dont know mixing a traxxas part with an hpi part doubt it would work.

does anyone know if the gearing is the same on a e savage and a e maxx

The E-Savage is about the same width as the old narrow E and T-Maxx design, so the narrow CVDs from MIP should fit. Some folks on another message board (dedicated to the E-Savage; you might google to find it) have done this setup. I myself have ordered the parts to do it, but they haven't come yet. The main thing is that the stock shafts use a 10x15x4mm bearing in the axle carrier, and you need to replace that with a 6x15x5mm bearing when you switch to the Maxx sized CVDs. I'm not sure yet whether the MIP kit comes with 5mm or 6mm drive cups for the differential, but if they are 6mm, then you would need to switch to 5mm ones to fit the E-Savage sized diff outputs. If I need to do that I plan to buy the MIP 5mm cup that was originally spec'd for the T-Maxx center CVD kit.
