Slipper Clutch and Centre diff.?
Would like to ask the different between this 2. Advantage and Disadvantage?
|
A slipper clutch allows slip in the drive train so it don't break.
A center diff does not allow slip but will transfer power to other tires with less traction. That in turns help with less breakage. The best is slipper with a center diff. |
A slipper is always needed (or at least highly desireable!) A center diff is a wonderful upgrade for improved handling and power transfer.

Oh thanks. Another stupid question is how can I add a slipper at my centre diiff.? Is there any hopup kit can do it?
|
On what vehicle?
|
If it's a maxx, and your using the gmaxx chassis, you can get the V1 Slipperential in the RCM store! Works great!

Mike is working on a piece that incorporates a slipper clutch into a center diff (one-piece design). There's a thread around here that shows my version of it, but I don't remember the name of the thread. If you do a search on "slipper-diff" you might be able to find it.

I saw that bad boy this afternoon - It sure is a sweet looking piece as well.... Hopefully soon.....
|
How much longer is it than a standard 1/8 center diff?
|
Thanks every body.
My truck is hellfire. The first modification with centre gearbox from MAXX. but seems the CG too high and going to front. So I decided to use stock Hellfire centre diff. But just feel uncomfortable with direct motor drive. |
