tires, wheels, tires, ...
lets talk tires and wheels,
what do you like: 40's or std maxx size?:032: wich brands do you like: pro-line, axial, hpi, losi, ... beadlocks or glued tires? and so on, tell me all you know. many thanks. |
I like standard and low profile tires.... but I mostly race. For bashing, I use to run stock emaxx treads, but I want to get a set of Badlands tires.
I have never had beadlocks... but they look cool IMO. Edit... "low profile" I meant the Proline MT tires... bowties, hotshots, and the similar Panther tires, etc |
for racing I prefer 40's on mine, but i have a couple sets of max sized that work as well
|
IMO for racing standad size work better because of the less tire you get more turning and it does not slide as much in the turns as the 40 series. But for bashing and looking cool go with the 40 series IMO because it puts more tire to the ground and it looks cool (that is if your motor can support 40 series but it probably can for example the novak gus recommend not using 40 seirs because there motor will not push it but pretty much any other motor will be able to handle it).
|
But sliding is my style, From my experience the G2R likes to run a little loose
|
wich 40's do you like?
|
any one running wheels/tires from axial?
|
they look cool but i dont know if they will hold up to BL power(the axel black monster truck 17mm wheels i looked at my hobby town looked from support that they would not hold up because of week suports) But others might work what do you guys think.
|
if 17's hold up to big block truggies, i think they can handle bl aswell.just imo.
i think i'll never exeed 1200 watt's.:D |
Ok it might work not saying it wont but i was just suggesting that they may not be as strong as the prolines. But if you think they work they mostlikl will because i think your are knowleageble enough that when you see them you can tell if there is enough meat on the rim holding it to the outer circle of the rim. BTW let me know how they do because i like the design and i was not sure of the stregnth. Who know since nobody runs these(at least out of the maxx/truggys/etc..) if they do good for you people will see that they look cool and they work and they might start using them.

I have been eyeballing the Axial Beadlocks for 40 series tires with a nice set of bowtie 40's for bashing, But I havent done it yet. If anyone has tried the Axial Beadlocks Id be interested to hear opinions too.
BTW the spoke version looks weak to me too, but the ''hole'' versions looks like it should be plenty tough. |

i really like the proline badlands, for trucks but from my 2wd buggy i like all Panther tires(the slicks come in handy for onroad) Proline is also good crime fiters fuzzie square bowties.....like em all for track bashing? it would probably be bowties alos....on all my trucks
|
gmaxx, do you mean the 8 spoke beadlock or the non beadlock 8 spoke wheels?
edit: nevermind gmaxx,if you think the 8 spoke's wont hold up i could agree with you. but i tought you ment the hex hub wouldnt hold up. |
