My Jammin CRT pix
4 Attachment(s)
I bought this CRT off ebay and converted it to BL. Just recently finished. It sure is a smooth running machine, very driveable. I'm using 10/51 pinion spur, but I may have to go down a tooth on the pinion though. The Ofna 51t spur is piggybacked on a Kyosho 46T spur.

Hi Cartwheels ,
good truck, we have a lot people conv CRT to BL and with quark 125 esc. but we have many problem about heat issue quark esc. i think CRT too heavy, we try go up spur to stock 62T and 10T better now. by thw way , which motor did you got. |
The best way to solve the gearing issue is to use Hot Bodies Lightning Stadium Pro ring and pinion gears in the f/r diff.
|
hi,
You mean change F/R diff rate to 4.3 right ? but what's to differ change spur and Pinion. Thank you. Quote:

Main advantage of this, you dont need to use HUGE spur gear and rise higher ur midle diff holderand etc |
ok thank suggestion.
i'm gonna try it. thank you. |
You can't talk gearing without telling what motor and battery you have?
4s? What motor wind? My CRT is just like yours, with MM, 4s lipos and a 1515 1700kv... and it does very well geared 12/52. I did put a fan over the motor/esc to lower temps but it was still ok without fans. I assume you have a higher kv motor like the 2200... so the gearing would be different of course. But it doesn't matter where you change the gearing... diffs or spur/pinion. The overall ratio is all that matters. |
Looks good!
The battery trays dont look the best, they look as if they would slip out. (batteries) Than again, i think that is velcro you have there? |
I have never had a heat problem w/ my CRT running MM, 1950/7 and 4s lipo. Geared 11/46 with stock r&p. Why do others have to gear so low?
|
Hey pb4ugo, how is the 1950/7 on 4s doing? I will run a similar setup in a lsp. Thanks.

I have also run 14/52 and it worked ok too... and was quite a bit more impressive to watch.

I guess I forgot to post some of the facts, The motor is a Neu 1515 2200kv and the bats are the new Max Amps 4s 4000 Mah. I'm not running any fans right now on the Quark, it would probably make a difference though. The battery trays were one of the hardest parts to figure out, because the pinion is so close, but they actually work very well. I've been in some wrecks and no movement what so ever. The velcro makes all the difference.
I'm happy with the speeds so far too. Even if I gear down a tooth it seems like it will still be very good. |
Is the heatsink actually mounted to the plexiglass (or polycarbonate, etc.)???
I'm not sure it will be too effective in that configuration. |
