how to keep mm 5700 cooler

ok guys well my motor is getting somewhat hott now with the a123 cells and i was thinking if i bought the rcm heat sink it will help. but it wont fit the stock tranny case so if i bought the flm tranny case would that help with the cooling( the fact that its aluminum) gearing is 87/18 and i know i need to get a smaller pinion and thats why im pordering one! what pinion do you think i should get?

lmk what i can do to help out with the heat problem!

The best way to get rid of your heat problem is to work with the cause, not try to alleviate the symptoms. First try messing around with the gearing, and then you should be able to find a spot where the motor runs cool, and you wouldn't need to worry about a heat problem.

ooo ok. so should i get like a 16t,15t,14t? pinion or what?

Anything less than 18T will help you out. It's a trial and error process.

You could try like your punch control and timing as well on the mambamax.

what do those do for the truck? here are the settings on cl

brake amount-50
punch control-100
start power-low
no cutoff
reverse-50
drag break- disabled
motor timing- normal

throttle curve is stock. what does this setting do?
brke curve is stock. what does this setting do also?

Turning the motor timing to "lowest" will help keep things cooler. Others have had some luck changing the "punch control" and "start power" as well.

Try this, it worked for me.
punch 50%
start power low
timing lowest
the timing is the worst for causing heatup
set your cut-off to 5v so the current doesn't go high and cause heatup
go to a 17 tooth gear and it will help a lot

i actually changed to a 16t and so i might be ok for now.

and ill do all that after wrk and see how it helps.

If you're running the 5700 within spec, that is, not exceeding the recommended voltage, you should be able to get it to run at normal temps when you have it geared right for the vehicle, motor, voltage, tire combo that you are running. I'm running a 7700 system on 3S Lipo.

I wound up with a 12/87 gearing, punch control at 100%, startup power and timing on low. I can run all day without any heat issues.

The MM system is a good system and shouldn't cause you any problems, when run within specs.
