advice wanted for g2r race setup
 

i plan on racing at the local track(nothing but nitro guys)
i have the quark 125 nad a g2r, i 'm wondering which motor and transmission to buy if i wanna dust the fuellies, i'm talking about pure performance advantages. do i even have the right esc ?

the esc is good. as for transmission i believe mike is coming out with a g2r slipperential but as of right now the gorillamaxx single speed will do the trick. motor wise a lehner 1940 or 1950 or a neu motor. How big is the track, how many cells do you plan on running lipo would be good for keeping weight down but some tracks do not allow them so you should probably check with the track owner before you decide on batteries. also what kind of budget do you have to work with. all of this will determine what you can do.

i don't think lipo power is allowed yet, 16 nimh gp 3300 will power the truck. i'm not sure how to explain the track except that its built for 1/8 buggies, has straight aways of 150 ft and a few tripples and doubles in the inner layout. budget is not a real concern at this point, if i have to spend a few extra to beat the nitro guys then so be it.

motor wise for a neu i would get the 1515/2.5D(1700kv) or the 1950 8 turn(1634kv) both should give you plenty of power and good runtime you might be able to go with a higher kv motor depending on how long your mains are. The 1515/2.5D and the 1950 8 turn will both keep the amps down keeping your batteries happy.
