MM and REvo G2r

Is this a good combo? Pros Cons anyone?
what about for racing?

i have the quark 125 for racing (not decided on a motor yet)

i'm thinking that the mm might be a good back up combo for racing or just for practicing my sweet driving skillz.

what battery setup should i go with for this combo ( G2r )

I am running two Mamba Maxxes in different trucks, truck one is a G2R with a 9XL and either 4 or 5s lipo's, the power is pheonomal I can get rolling wheelies at anything up to 2/3 throttle.

Truck 2 is a G2 maxx chassis with a 7XL and 4 or 5s, Its more powerful than the 9XL with the same power source and faster.

What gearing and batteries are determined by what you want to do. I know you want to race it so what speeds do you want and are Lipo's allowed at your track?

The pros are;
computer adjustable
easy to program to transmitter
price :027:

Cons;
anything over 3s lipo,or 10 cells needs a UBEC ( but thats a con to all)
running 4 or 5s or 14 to 16 cells are voiding warranty
Possible running over the specified limits might can shorten the life of esc (not sure yet about this)

As i mentioned in the cons, Running this esc in this application will void the warranty, if that is a concern

Not sure if you got a welcome yet or not, so Welcome to the forums

Id take the MM over the quark. Use the quark as a backup.

I also forgot to mention that i haven't got a real chance to test the 7XL setup as i keep breaking parts (4 year old transmission, and waiting to get a slipperential in it

the more i read on these forums, the more i realize i don't know jack. but i want to learn, thats why i appreciate this place so much. this will be my first time racing on the track, so i'm not sure what speeds to look for. I'm being told that lipo are not legal in my area. my intuition tells me that the added weight of the batteries (nimh) and their placement in the g2r chassis might be a large advantage in the center of gravity dept (i've been told that too light is a bad idea). Transmission issues have not been adressed, is ebay my best option for a used emaxx tranny. I would like to have a few options in my pit box as far as tranny, and esc/motor. I want to smoke the nitro guys, i realize drivig skills are most important. However i would like to give myself every performance advantage. thanks for any and all advice you people amaze me. And i'm spent

Not sure how long the heats will be but you might want to look into a fegaio 8XL and IB 4200's or GP4300's. 14 (2 7 cell packs) should get good power and decent runtime, maybe 10 to 15 minutes
