quick question

i got my 9920 wired up with an UBEC and was just wondering which wire to remove from the esc to receiver wire. thanks.

none! remove the black tab from the back of the controller, its under the shrink wrap.

You can see it as a small rectangle on the battery end near the red wire in the shrinkwrap

Cant you just disconect the red (middle) wire also? It should do the same thing as far as I know.

yes you can do it that was as well, I used to do that, but since im using I lipo saver now, I opted to just leave the red wire & to pull the bec plug, either way will work

The LipoSaver doesnt work with the red wire pulled? Just asking cuz Im working on setting up my 12020 and I the way I have it set up now is red wire pulled and plugged to the LVC. I just cant test it cuz Im waiting for bullet plugs on the motor side that I ordered.

i dont think so, cause it needs to read the voltage correctly from the lipo's is my guess, so i just pulled the black jumper

jhautz 01.25.2007 11:06 AM

It has 2 separtate wires that go directly to the pack leads. Thats where it reads the voltage from. The 3 wire plugs are for control signals and 6v power only. It doesnt read voltage from there. It would only read the 6V from the BEC on those wires.

I'm just not sure what it deos to ''cut off'' the power to the esc. Does it just shut it down? or just block the signal pulses from the Rx to the ESC? Does it need the red wire to do this?

meatzardd 01.25.2007 09:52 PM

alright thanx guys. what happens if u disconnect the black jumper and the middle wire?

BrianG 01.25.2007 10:00 PM

@meatzardd: It should just be a redundant way to disable the built-in BEC...

I believe it either shuts the signal off or outputs a specific signal set to neutral or whatever.
