Would a 9l work in a revo?
I currently have a g2r revo project that I have been itching to finish, but funds are low and I was wondering if a the 9l I have laying around would work or not.. the esc is a Mamba maxx, and the bats will more than likely be 8000mah 2s2ps..
I'm trying to get it finished cause Im starting to lose interest and am considering selling it as it is if I don't finish it soon.. |
Yes, but it would run hot.
Buy a 7, 8, or 9xl "C-Series" depending on the batteries & ESC you are using. BTW... What batteries will you be using and what goals do you have for the truck??? |
I am looking at using maxamps 2 8000 2s2ps , basically its going to be a basher.. i don't really race just looking for something fun that isn't messy and nosiey

Since you have the 9L and MM... go ahead and run use them. If you aren't too hard on tehm it may be ok. Just watch the temps.

Sorry, I forgot to respond to the ESC part of your question.
Yes the 9L will work with the MM ESC. I would agree with Glassdoctor. As always watch the temps & the gearing. |
It would run, but a xl would be better, the cooler the motor runs, the cooler the esc runs!

I run a 10L, and its working fine so far. No heating issues at all (even running in the sand).

Well, i partly agree with Metal; if both motors run at about the same efficiency, the L will get more hot, because it's got a smaller cooling area than the XL. I understand what you mean though, bomb.
The higher voltage systems normally run cooler, because at a higher voltage, the internal resistance becomes less of an issue. I would not put my money on a 9L in a revo though. For 14 cells, i would pick a 7XL if you want awesome speed, power and less runtime, or an 8XL if you want decent speed, power and runtime. (if you don't push your 7XL too much though, you will get a pretty decent runtime) |
