I LOVED Trinity Monster Horsepower the with my 2.5R.

Check with Byron Fuels and see what they could do to ship you some direct. It's great fuel and they are cool to deal with.

well if i ended up getting the trinity monster... would i have to retune my truck?

not really looking forward to doing that.... also how bad is top fuel? 20%

squeeforever 01.28.2007 01:18 PM

Top Fuel isn't great...It will gum up the engine pretty bad...Trinity burns really clean unlike the Traxxas fuel...You HAVE TO retune the engine all the time. Otherwise, you will end up running it to lean one day...Most racers retune the truck after every heat...I know I did. That was partially because of our weather, but a few degrees difference will make a HUGE difference in performance. You better get use to tuning...

Squee,

You really think Traxxas fuel is bad?

I've not noticed any residue in the engine after 1 gal of Topfuel 20%. Maybe the 3.3 runs cleaner?

Hmmmm. Do you feel that strong about it? Should I switch to the Trinity or Byron's??????

squeeforever 01.28.2007 01:54 PM

I would...Have you had a look at the top of the piston? My 2.5R ran 20% Traxxas on the first piston and sleeve, I then had to rebuild and break in the motor at the track and was told to switch to Trinity 30%. All I could say afterwards was WOW! Not to mention, the top of the piston looked almost brand new after a gallon of it. The original didn't look so good...

My piston looks brand new..shiny silver after one gallon. No buildup at all!

I'd consider switching over to Trinity 20 or 30% if you think it performs better.

The Odonnells fuel tower sells is good, If you can get Morgan sidewindwer fuel, its the best i have found. Stick with 20%

squeeforever 01.28.2007 02:27 PM

I think it performs ALOT better to be honest. I also think it holds a tune better. ALL the racers at my local track run/suggest the Trinity Monster Horsepower. What I did was run 30% with a little castor oil added for a little more lubrication. Like maybe 2oz. to a gallon, if that much.

crazyjr 01.28.2007 05:30 PM

I had troubles tuning with either traxxas top fuel or trinity, with odonells i had a lot better luck and with sidewinder the temps stayed so low i could get aggressive with the tuning, Plus you don't have to do after run with the sidewinder

t-maxxracer32 01.28.2007 05:46 PM

well i guess ill go with the trinity monster since its on the tower!

thanks guys

crazyjr 01.28.2007 08:41 PM

Odonnell's is on tower as well, if the trinity doesn't work get odonells

Byron's hands down.. Although Trinity is made by Byrons also.. I've been selling/running Byrons for years and thats the only fuel my hobby shop sells..

jhautz 02.08.2008 01:05 AM

I am partial to the O'donnells. I've been running it for the last year or so and really like it. Clean and consistent tuning.

For the small block motors stick with the 20%... 30%is for big blocks.

Oh yea almost forgot.... I agree the Traxxas fuel sucks. Stop using that junk. I feel like it has so much lube in it you have to lean the heck out of it to get any power and then you are just making poblems. I tried it once cuz the LHS was out of the Odonnells and thats all they had. I wound up giving away 3/4 of the gallon. I hated it.
