some dumb questions about servos and receivers
I am currently building an brushless revo. I have installed one traxxas 2055 high torque servo for steering but it struggles to turn the wheels at a standstill. Is one servo enough?
By the way, I am using the radio and receiver from my old super hornet. Could this possibly be under-rated for a high torque servo. Its hard to find the current ratings of this type of thing. If I have to replace my radio gear, can anyone recommend a good 2 channel radio and receiver. Thanks |
Well, the RX won't limit the servo power. It's a question of what your BEC or RX-batt can put out.
And yes, one servo can be enough. But certainly not one of the stock ones :) Check Mikes store for well-priced substitutes. (anything above 150oz should do) I hear alot of guys in the states use JR radios. Again, check if Mike has something in the store. Thank you DAF |

A single 2055 is not enough for a revo, you need at least a 140 to do the job. I'd recomend a hitec 645 at the very least

I heard the 645's can cause glitching. I would go to this one http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail.php?prod=HS-5625MG if you are going to spend money on a servo. Or even a better one. I've always found that I kept upgrading the servo...so may as well get a good one right off the bat.

Newe, where did you hear about that glitching with the 645's? Im using a DX3 with that servo and have yet to test it, but am hoping this servo wont be a problem?!

The servo or radio? I payed 54.99 CAD for the servo..

Otherwise, use the 645...some have luck, but some have issues. I've had issues with two of them, right in a row, from different distributors. But what you paid for that one, you can get a better one that will work for sure... .02 is all man... Also, IMO, may as well get the better ones anyway. they last longer, perform better at higher speeds. |
Uhh, i think there is a mistake here. I use the HS-645MG. It has 133 oz of torque @ 6V. The one in mikes store (HS-5625MG is only 94.43oz.)

I use the Airtronics in the store...thing is fast and torquey Or, use the 645....you may have good luck with it, others have.... |
Ha, i didnt notice that. Mine is a newer version, i think, since my sticker on the servo is a different hitec logo. If you want i can get a pic.

the servo you ordered came in..for lsp?
