brushless help for kuwait weather
hello,
need help for chosing E-maxx brushless setup :) our weather in summer is 40-50 C (104-122 F) so i need brushless setup that can work with this weather. thanks |
Hi Q8! If you want a setup that doesn´t thermal on you; get a mamba-maxx controller, 4S lipo´s (such as the maxamps 8000mAh packs) a Lehner 1940 motor with a 2000kv would do very nice.
|
thanks but need speed too
i wish to make my maxx hit 45-50 mph btw we can not order lipo's it not allowed |
How about a pack of Ice on top of the esc & motor!
WOW 104-122! That's seriously hot! BTW.....are you with the Armed Forces? and last but not least.............Welcome to the RC-Monster forums! |
lol we don't have ice
sure i am not with Armed Forces :) |

Regardless of the ESC of choice. Use a fan! An efficient motor such as the Lehner is a must. A 1940/7 with a Mamba Max and 4S is one good combo. A Quark (with heatsink & fans), Lehner 1940/7 or NEU1515/1Y and 4S or 5S would be the next step up. Use a UBEC with any and all of the combos. |
Welcome!
In those kind of temps, I would not suggest a Quark at all. MM would be good with a Lehner 1940. But if you are looking at 45-50's, then a 1950, but not sure if the mm can do that motor. Also guys, he said no Lipo allowed....that must suck! |
For those speeds and given the current draw of the 1950's i say probably not.
|
If the MM can take the XL motors, why shouldn't it work with the 1950s?
Amp draw is about the same, with extra efficiency. |
That was my thinking. In those kind of temps, a Quark would be hard to keep cool IMO. I have enough of a hard time in 95 degree F weather! But for the speeds he wants, not sure how he would do it. He could go, lehner 1950/Qaurk 125b or MM on 18 cells maybe....not sure with NiMh to get to 45-50...he cannot get lipo I guess.

Daf,
The MM would absolutely run the 1950 on 4s. I have no doubt. I almost bought the 1950/7 and opted for the NEU1515 at the last minute. I was thinking he'd be running 5S or 6S. 4S on a 1950/7 would only get into the 27000 RPM range. Kinda low. 5S seems suited for the job by bringing the motor into the 34,000 range. If he's looking for 50mph, I think he needs to look at 5s or maybe 6s. What do you think? |
From my understanding, hitting the 50's is not that easy to do. On my 5s it was not capable with a 9xl anyway (low kv). Maybe 5s on 7xl, but then you're looking at high temps, especially in 100 degree weather. I think the MM could do it, but how well would be the question.
