Proline Steering kit in Maxx chassis
 
Is this correct mounting? I guess it is the reason why the chassis has large cutouts in the bottom so the steering kit fits
The servo is on the other side as usually on purpose (did not have to cut too much from the servo skid)

That is correct, but i would use shorter screws there. Also, dump the servo skid....

at leat it protect servo from lots of smal rocks that are on BMX tracks i usually bash. its hacked a bit so the steering fits :)

If the servo skid is on it. leave it. I have busted a few servos and wish I had one.

Personal preference. I have never busted a servo, fried a few though in my time! LOL
