For all you Tamiya fans

Not exactly a Tamiya fan, but it actually looks decent. Wonder how it wil compare to other larger truggies like the losi muggy.

GorillaMaxx360 02.01.2007 09:40 PM

look nice but i to am not a tamiya die hard fan

BlackedOutREVO 02.01.2007 11:35 PM

WTF??? there no pinion on the motro, it goes to a dog bone, and on the motor theres a out drive... thats WIERD... i wonder how that works???

BrianG 02.02.2007 12:03 AM

The dogbone goes inside the tranny and is connected to the pinion there...

glassdoctor 02.02.2007 12:20 AM

That looks cool... would be a killer BL conversion. I think it would be easy to do.... just put a outdrive cup on the motor shaft and strap it down using a *cough* finedesign *cough* style motor mount.

crazyjr 02.02.2007 03:36 AM

Need to do something about that cold Glassdoctor

GorillaMaxx360 02.02.2007 08:58 AM

for all you xray fans check out the xray site and look at there new nitro truggy, buggy, and car. AND yes i am an xray fan

jhautz 02.02.2007 07:58 PM

Only problem I see with this is for a BL conversion is changing the gearing. I cant quite tell if you can change the pinion gear inside that transmision.

Very diferent... I'll give em that!!!

glassdoctor 02.02.2007 08:03 PM

yeah... you would need to get the motor right cause you might have to just swap motors instead of gears. ;)

*cough*

tough to get rid of this dang cold, hee hee

jhautz 02.02.2007 08:07 PM

I just noticed that it has a built in slipper clutch on the back of that transmision. You dont see that everyday on a nitro. Now it looks like it was meant to be coverted to Brushless:018:

I wonder if thats a diff inside that transmision.?????? If it is, this is looking more and more like a Tamiya Sliperential that might be adaptable to just about any truggy or buggy.

coolhandcountry 02.02.2007 08:35 PM

That don't look to shabby.

captain harlock 02.02.2007 10:23 PM

I was about to post a thread about the Nitrage( the name does not harmonize with our powerplants, though).

I then stopped and changed my mind.

Larry preceded me to it.

jhautz 02.02.2007 10:32 PM

So we rename it the Electrage or the Erage

I was looking at this Im not sure I would even try and convert this one. The chassis doesnt look to friendly for laying out a BL system with the batteries. The whole truck doesnt really look that tough. I am interested in the transmision though. Im wondering how tough it really is. I have never had a Tamiya before. I kinda just always tought of them as borderline toys.

coolhandcountry 02.02.2007 10:42 PM

Ussually tamiya puts good drivelines in them. Them seem to like mod 1 gears.
