6S Lipo and mgm 24 160 and hacker 9XL?
Hi guys needs some input for this will this set up be ok? 6S Lipo and mgm 24 160 and hacker 9XL If is it too much on much on our track, can I put throttle down to 60% or whatever % on a Spektrum DX2 ? Does thia has that feature?Or i can just use my Airtronics MX3 FM Transmitter .What is the difference between DX2 and DX3,Is this comparable performance wise with M11 and 3pk?Thanks.

Do not "throttle down" using the transmitter.Instead gear down for the fastest straight on the track if you have to.Generally electric motors/esc's don't like running for extended periods at partial throttle aand will cause some heat

To add to pinolelst's post: If you insist on throttling down, then use a motor like the LMT or Neu, which run better on partial throttle. That would be more expensive than a couple of extra pinions though...
To answer your other question: The DX2 is a 2 channel radio (throttle and steering), while the DX3 is a 3 channel (throttle, steering, and aux for a shift or whatever). The three channel radios can come in handy if using mechanical brakes because some radios have channel mixing. This lets you control the throttle and aux channels with the throttle control, which means you use the aux to control the brake so you can have seperate EPAs set. Also, the DX3 has a 3 model memory, while the DX2 has a 2 model memory. The newer DX3.0 has a 4 model memory. |
I would watch how much you gear down as well. That can cause heat issues as well. The esc should handle it no problem. I ran much larger motors on it.

The dance is fine and the rewards are great. 9xl on a 6s lipo is pretty good on power.
