My New Ride

Hey guys! I went to the indoor races at my LHS and it was really cool all they race is 1/18 scale and it is on a small foam track. Even though outside racing is way better i like the indoor racing because it gives you something to race in the winter. Also since all they race is 1/18 everything is cheap to buy, build, fix, and race. While i was there the coolest cars i saw where the xrays (m18) they were incredibly fast and cool and they are small and fairly cheap and of course they are good quality. So i was on a mission to get one of these. It seemed kind of hopeless because i was broke but i was so determined i managed to get one buy selling stuff i did not need (aluminum mini t parts like arms and such in return for plastic parts) and well i got one. Anyway enough of that info now to the real stuff. The car here cost me 106 bucks flat. I used my mini t electronics and the xray kit and that was it. SO that is why on in the car you see a mini t battery. Electronics include LRP micro reverse ESC, JR Reviver, mini t 6 cell battery (it fits fine and works better than the 5 cell that it is made to handle), and a hitec servo. But the most embracing thing about the car (don't laugh) is the motor yes it is a stock mini t motor. Now i know this sounds bad but since the gear ratio is smaller and the car is lower lighter and such this mini t motor pushes this thing to a 18mph and that is plenty enough for a 10ft by 10ft track. But i will be upgrading to a cobalt 14t and from doing 18 to about 45 mph way to fast but cool. Anyway heres the pics and there are a lot of them but i like pictures. (also this has to be one of the best investments i made i highly recommend this car it is so reliable, adjustable, cool, and it works great)(body is painted buy me it is the first paint job i have done in about 1 year and it is orange because that was the only color i had) (note camera is capable of taking better pics so sorry for the badness)

VERY nice! I might get a x18, maybe a mini-z for racing in my basement. Loving the ferrari body on it! :)

That thing looks so much fun. I actually have a rc18 with a mamba and it is so much fun. You can drive it anywhere, it is practically indestrctable, and you dont need to go anywhere to drive it.

Have fun with your new rc.

GorillaMaxx360 02.08.2007 10:56 PM

thanks guys for the complements i really can wait to race it man this thing flys with a super slow motor i cant wait till i get my mod motor this thing will easly do over 35 on a small track that is crazy but if i get good enough i can use the acceleration to my advantage and the speed at straight runs. Cant wait. You like the body huh it my first paint job in a bout a year. A actually took the stickers of (body decals) off becuase they were pealing off and the widow decals had a hazy apperance to them and i did not like that so i removed them (funny it is a m18 and i have gmaxx stickers -looks good though-) Thanks guys really

BJE 02.08.2007 11:10 PM

That thing with a BL/Lipo would fly! :D
Cool M18, have fun!

GorillaMaxx360 02.08.2007 11:16 PM

i heard (this is crazy and suicide for the car) putting a c4 which is 9200kv and a 2s lipo in one of these that has to do easly over 85mph at those speeds liftof is possable.
