Nothing beats brushless or all the help you can get from this forum.

Very nice maxx. Have fun with it. Those new shocks should be so much better than the previous ones.

GorillaMaxx360 02.09.2007 11:54 PM

nice dont feel "sucked in" by the coolness of those shocks i too have a set of blue msr5 shocks just laying around new out of package and i was so diapionted with there performance (just by hand testing them) i bought a set of bigbores work like a charm hoping to sell them soon i have seen them go for good money on ebay so i am wishing for high hopes.

He now is using the UE shocks..

I remember that IB metldown.

all and all, a very nice maxx.

nbcaznmaster 02.10.2007 08:15 AM

wow, i've never seen an exploded nimh before

wfdfiremedic 02.10.2007 10:14 AM

How did those batteries explode? Too hot of a set-up?

Serum 02.10.2007 10:28 AM

No, for just being IB's.. their first batch tended to do so.

Sylvester 02.10.2007 12:23 PM

I had the same thing happen to my IB 4200's.. thats why i didnt go ib ever again.

jnev 02.10.2007 12:33 PM

Happened to me too. But, I sent it back and they sent a brand new pack back to me.

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but what are the best nimh battery packs?-

Mike.L 02.10.2007 12:43 PM

id say that GP's are very good. Nice truck, must be fun to bash with. Whats wrong with the ib's sooo many problems.?

capitol 02.10.2007 01:55 PM

When those batteries melted down they were hissing and smoking. They were still VERY hot 10 minutes after the incident.
I was "told" the batteries must have shorted on the metal chassis even though they had battery wrap on them. I dont buy that story. I wasn't offered any help from the place I purchased them from either. I wont say who it was, but we all have purchased from em :010: Eventually, I was offered a replacement pack at cost and I was pleased with that resolution because NO help was offered from the original seller.
My max really tears it up. It sure is fun and at times frustrating building one up, but not even close to the frustration of nitro. Been there done that:035:

I've seen pics of several melted NiMH cells. Maybe the cell's shrinkwrap wore away where it was touching the other cell (from constant vibration) and ended up shorting?

jnev 02.10.2007 04:17 PM

That is exactly what happened to mine BrianG. The shrink just wore off, from sliding a bit to much, and it shorted on my aluminum pede chassis.

Nice truck man! I can say that I never bought batts from them then if you got no assistance with that issue. Also, you may want to put some type of padding on the chassis or the batts, you may run it that problem again, fyi...
Again, nice truck! Love the body!

jollyjumper 02.10.2007 04:30 PM

even if some cells have failed i think IB's are best.
but i run gp's or lipo.
cuz if i go IB i need new charger bla bla bla,...
but yeah, all the pro's race ib's.
