Stampede Fastlane Machine Extended Arms?
For part of my b-day present, I was considering asking for the FLM Extended Arm Conversion, and I had a few simple questions.
1.) Are the front and rear arms the same length? 2.) Does the kit come with turnbuckles, camber links? 3.) Are they strong enough to stand up to 5 or 6' jumps, with a soft landing? 4.) How do they compare in length to the stock arms? 5.) How do they compare in strength to the stock arms? Uhh... That's all I can think of for now. Comments? Suggestions? papa_wheely EDIT: I just read, that, even with the exteneded arm kit, I still need to have different offset rims for the front and the rear. Is this true? |
yeh u still need different rims, imo i dont care, the back a tiny bt wider...
it comes with turnbuckles bo rod ends they are tought as HECK! there notecebly longer then stock and they will be WAAAY storonger then stock.. i know all this because i have a all flm pede :D |
Oh yeah... You had a thread about that over on the Traxxas forums, didn't you?
I've been considering asking for the FLM Super Extended Chassis kit for my B-day... Would you recommend it? Thing is, though, if I did get it, I don't think I'd be able to get a BL for it, it might be a month or two afterwards, because I know for a fact my parents wouldn't get me the kit and a MM for it, even though it is my 16th b-day. Anyway, just curious, what radio are you using with all that? |
I would recomend it. All there parts are very strong and you will love them. You also will have more room for batteries. I used a stock revo radio on my FLM pede, but I suggest upgrading the radio to a synthesized one so you don't have to worry about what frequency other people are on that are driving with you.

Anyway, what do you suggest I get first? Full FLM chassis or BL system? |
I actually suggest neither. First, I suggest getting an aluminum idler gear, unless you already have one. Then a stronger steering servo. But after this, It doesn't really matter which one. I bought the FLM chassis, tower, a-arms, etc, first and then the brushless system a few weeks later.

i am e maxx rocks over there, is that who ur thinking of?? and i got point for arguing with him, and then in another thread someone was asking if the stock servo saver is any good and i said no its a junky servo saver and they banned me and the reason they told me i was bashing traxxas lol so im sick of that place, but i joined up again because i have a few different e mail addy's, but i am not talking lol do what rc said, but id say get what u want first, the flm wont break but it will be kinda slower because of more wieght, go bl in the pastic pede and u WILL break parts no matter what lol unless u drive like a old granny:005: |
I already have all the basic upgrades - alum. idler, Rpm carriers/bearings, Rpm front bumper, etc...
The Traxxas forums are crazy strict, but it keeps the place in order, and that's what I like about it. The thing is, my parents won't get my both a BL and full FLM for my b-day. That's why I was asking. It may be considered bashing, but I agree. My stock servo saver broke within a few days. My new Kimbrough one is working just fine. |
thats crap to lol, get a ofna saver, heres the link.. its wider and longer then stock so it wroks WAAY better
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXFNE8 and like i said, go flm and it will seem kinda boring imo because it will be a lil slower.. id go all flm and have a bullet proof truck to bash, then get the mm 5700kv when u have the money |
E-Maxx, you're right on with the Ofna servo saver for the pede. I've got 2 pedes with that saver and I've never had a servo or saver issue with them in over 1.5 yrs of total thrashing. highly recommended.
