Rc18T lookin for brushless kit
I just purchased a New RC18T. I would like to know whats a good brushless kit to go with to make this thing super fast yet maintainable. And I also need suggestions on LiPo voltage to go with to maximize performance.... Please help
|
I would suggest a Mamba for it. Either the 6800 or the 8000. I am running the 6800 on 6 cells and it is so much fun. It is very fast, yet still completely controlable. As for lipo, Max Amps sells a 3s lipo battery designed specifically for the rc18 series.

What do you mean by very fast?
Is the Mamba8000 the more powerful of the two? Thanks. |
yes the 8000 is the more powerful of the two.. What hopups will i need to maintain the longevity of my differentials and car itself
|
Probably CVD's, and later on MIP super diffs will be needed. As for fast, mine on the 6800 with 6 cells, hits about 40mph. The 8000 will get shorter run times, but will be faster. The 8000 on 6 cells should hot about 45-50mph, and then on 3s lipo, it is starts getting airborne, lol. So that'll be about 55-60mph.

Clocked my mamba comp-x 8000 rc18t at 50 mph with stock gears on 3s lipo on a curved county road with a rough surface and speed dots to contend with. This was right after the rc18t came out and I bet with the newer cells 55-60 is a good estimate.Use different gearing and who knows:005:
I had to stand the 1500 pack I used on edge and use velcro on the chassis and body interior to secure it. Good Luck take videos pinolelst |
i would say the 5800kv is better because of these resons
it has more torque, so taller gearing can be done with out it over heating and then same with heat on te 3 cell lipo, so u could over gear the 6800kv more then the 8000kv and make it run the same or more speed, with 10 15 min more runtime |
You can easily get over 20 minutes of run time. On a good 6 cell battery, just bashing, I'll get about 23 to 25 minutes of bashing.
|
thanks guys for all the suggestions i think im gonna do the 8000 and construct a heat sink for it.. I will take some videos of it along with my 10th scale tourer with 5s and lehner 4200xl
|
Sounds good. Can't wait to see the video's.

Ok i have run into a problem I was going to go with the Mamba 8000 but then I went in the hobby shop and the 8000 combo was sold so I bought the mamba 25 and the dynamite C4 I want to know whats the max KV the mamba can handle... I cant find it on the website or in the paper
|
There is no set KV that is to high.
|
Well what do you think was the reason for the mamba to burn out without a cause in the first run?
|
Not sure to be honest.
|
I don't know what could have caused it. I have been running my Mamba for months, and it has never thermaled, or anything. Works perfect.
