NEW Enerland Cells? 30C Continuous

Just found this quick blurb on the Enerland website. Looks like they are about to release 30C continous cells!! They don't have any details posted on it yet, just what I found in this popup calling out their new XQ cells 30C continuous packs. And the left column link that doesnt go to anything yet.

Anyone know or seen anything else on this?

Awesome! this means the flightpower packs will become even better; though i don't think 110A at 3.6V per cell is considered bad... :) I can't imagine they became better.

Goooood i love Enerland!!!!!
:)

It looks like this is a whole new cell based on the dimensions. It also says that the current 20C cells are now going to be improved and carry a 25C rateing.

:D:D:Dbump,

they are coming out now with the 25c and :004: 30c:004: at flightpower.
any other that carry these cells, i saw polyquest in the links:032: :002:

I noticed on tower yesterday that they don't show the Evo 20 4900's anymore, but do show Evo 30 4500's. I'm wondering if they'll be discontinuing the 4900's for the new Evo 30 4500's. And if so, I wonder if they'll start putting the 4500's in the Trakpower packs if they're about the same size cells. I might have to make a call to Duralite today to see what's up.

captain harlock 04.26.2007 10:46 AM

The 4500 seems bigger in size than the 4900 ones. I like the compact size of the 4900mah ones, though.

jollyjumper 04.26.2007 11:17 AM

they cant replace the trakpowers with bigger cells as those wont fit in to all 1/10th scales. touring cars dont have extra room.
i actually have 2 trakpowers here, more about them later on as i do more driving with them.

skellyo 04.26.2007 12:37 PM

Just got off the phone with Duralite...
Flightpower has discontinued the EVO 20 4900 cells. They didn't have any information on if the Trakpowers will end up with different cells or not, but I would assume this is the case.

As of right now, the only cell size I see that might fit ok in the Trakpower is the new EVO 25 3700mAh cells. Most everything else is too long to fit. I don't know what the future of the Trakpowers are, but I certainly hope they keep a package like what they have now, whether it be 4900's or something else.

My guess is they will keep the 4900´s for their trakpowers. i don´t see a reason why they would change that. They might discontinue the ´loose´ 4900 packs.

skellyo 04.26.2007 04:30 PM

They can't keep the 4900's if Enerland has stopped making them. I don't see on the Enerland website that they make a 4900 cell anymore.

I noticed these new cells say they can charge at 2C. I wonder if we can really charge at 2C?

MetalMan 04.28.2007 01:22 AM

All newer (20C+) cells are 2C charge capable. However, at a faster charge rate, the total number of effective cycles is reduced. Also, any imbalances in a pack are magnified two times when charging at 2C, so proper cell balance is an absolute necessity.

BP-Revo 04.28.2007 01:41 AM

Hmm...I was going to get the Evo20 4900's...I wonder if I should just wait for the new cells?

AAngel 04.28.2007 02:17 AM

I don't have any flightpower packs yet and am wondering if I should grab some 4S and/or 5S 4900 packs while I can.
