To bead or not to Bead

Are maximizer beadloc rims as good as proline using glue for racing?Or for racing just stick with the old fashion glue OR will it be as good as Beadlock rims?

Id stick with pro-lines dish wheels and standard glue. Imo beadlocks are not meant for racing.

yeah, i have a set for my crt. they are really heavy and you can't just change tires real quick with them, you still need to clean the tire and the rim with denatured alcohol before you mount them. however, if the track is really slick the extra weight will prevent a lot of the wheel spin.

One thing nice about haveing a set of beadlocks is you can try out different tire and foam combinations to find what works for you best. Once you glue your pretty much stuck with what you have.

Yea...I would personally get a set of beadlocks and find out what tire and foam combo works best, then put that on a traditional wheel.

Beedlocks are pretty awesome, but are much too heavy for racing unless you have alot of power or are running in low traction conditions like previously said (though, on the other hand, once they start spinning, it will be harder for them to grab again).

Thats what I meant. :018: Get the combo dialed in and then glue it up on regular rims for actual racing.

at least for bashing they are pretty awesome

So bead locks are only good for bashing then thanks for all your responses:027:

they are great for trying tires out on the track and if you like them then take the set and glue em up! If they don't work then bolt in another set. that wayyou are not spending gobs of money on rims and tires, and if you want to get rid of a set of tires, then ebay is your best friend, selling tires online only works if the buyer can choose what rims to get, and finding used tires that have never been glued but are cheaper because they were used, is a good deal unto itself
