Motor and gearing selection

I need advice on which motor i should run with a mamba max on 4s 8000 maxamps and what pinion i should start with if i have a 51 tooth strobe slipper. i would like a good compromise of speed (40mph) and runtime. thanks

I'd go with either a 7XL or 8XL. I'm not sure about gearing. Those motors (make sure you use the RCM heatsink/clamp as well) are a good setup that wont break the wallet.

Another option is getting a Lehner 1940 motor, but they are quite expensive. However, they are of excellent quality and can easily provide the 40mph. Also, because they are extremely efficient, they will be easier on the electronics and provide slightly more runtime.
