Mamba Max/Plettenberg compatibility
Hi all.
My G2R along with my fan equipped Mamba Max are waiting for a brand new motor to be dropped-in. It will be powered by Li-Po 14.8 volts 6000 if this detail may help. I can get my hands on either Feigao or Plettenberg line of motors. The question I have is if my Mamba Max with be matched well with a Plett motors. Don't know if this 4 polers has good compatibility with it. Would it be better to go with the much much cheaper 8XL? Please help, thanks in advance. |
Excuse guys, sorry for my french repply, but Marto is one of my friend from Quebec, Canada, and he speak french, like me.:005: Et puis Marto, mon 8XL est toujours là pour toi à $105 payable par PayPal. http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5115 |
Welcome.
the XL's work great, i have a 7XL and 9XL on dofferent mamba maxes. there are a couple here that run the pletties but i haven't yet |
I have heard reports from two guys that have run the Mamba and Pletty motors and they are very happy.
Both said there is zero cogging... say it works awesome and runs cool. Plettys are supposed to be sweet motors... they just aren't very common. If they were a little cheaper I think they would be much more popular. The Feigaos work very well and are way cheap... |
Yes, the plettenberg/mamba-maxx is a perfect combination, according to bomb-proof. He uses it on 5S with the bigmaxximum.

where do you get those motors?
|
you can ask mike to order for you or you can go here to get one..

i've run my maximum with fan with a mamba max with no issues... i got it from icare as well... i think their the north american distributers as well... get the pletty you won't be disappointed

those motors are pricey!
|
The good stuff usually is - "You get what you pay for" after all...
|
Price is not that high IMO, considering it uses segmented magnets, has got a build in fan and a rather complicated to machine housing.
|
I know you get what you pay for, usually. This time, is the Plett better about 3 time than the Feigao, to justify an almost three time the cost ?

I would get a pletty if I wasn't already getting a NEU. The Bolido is a 10 Pole motor and would probably be the last motor you'd need to buy. |
Isn't the Bolido bigger than the BigMaxx?
|
Yeah, it eats a bigmax for lunch.. It can power a train.. :p
