Castle Creations Hydra 240

Anybody know anything about Castle's newest hydro esc

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ID=CSEHYDRA240

Its water cooled and looks like it can handle 20 cells and 240A

I may just have to try one since the MMM is still a ?

Weird thing it's not on their site...

Looks like a nice controller! nice current handling.. :)

But what about the brakes? i think it might be necessary to use mechanical brakes with this controller.

Ya, I basically stumbled upon this tonight.
Don't boats have brake... lol
There is a 120A and 240A. The 240 looks pretty good for only a few bucks more.
Its water cooled so that could be pretty handy for those hot summer days :017:

It shouldn't be too hard to make it work with a normal heatsink.

The 240A should be more efficient (lower internal R (assuming they use the same, but more, fetts than the 120A version))

Boats and brakes;

Boats usually use soft brakes, compared to land vehicles.

And the timing of the motors is more aggressive, but they are pretty close to cars.. Closer than planes for a fact.. (like the phoenix you tried)

Bytheway; have you seen that little thingy that makes a stick controller work with a pistolgrip transmitter?

I haven't seen the pistalgrip adapter. You got a link?

Bugger, can't find it back anymore..

Anyway; it was an inline convertor, it basicly changed the input signals on the controller to accept the pistol grip.. It changed the 0 point of the transmitter.

Oh i see how you are
You're such a tease ;)

I wonder if a small fishtank airpump would be effective enough rather than use water. At least there would be airflow. :)

I don't think dragging a 110V generator gives you better laptimes though..

Serum 03.17.2007 04:45 AM

Can't find the convertor anymore.. I will continue looking but no luck so far..

Serum 03.17.2007 04:50 AM

lol, well, if left at 110v no. But all it would need is to replace it with a 12v dc motor. Small and low amp draw...

Serum 03.17.2007 05:09 AM

Usually, they don't use a rotating motor Brain!
