Budget e-maxx

Ok just got my emaxx back up and running. The 2 monster maxx motors i had are almost needing a rebuild, and my evx will no longer reverse. so before i go replacing things i was going to run an idea by u gurus. Im on a tight budget going to college, and playing with the speed calculator, got the idea to run a mamba max with a single battery for the time being. A 5700 Mamba max system with a 6 cell back. Good or bad idea? and why? and input is appreciated.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to run the 5700 motor with the e-maxx. It is just too small and weak of a motor for such a heavy truck. What you could do though, is sell the 5700 motor and keep the Mamba Max ESC, and run an XL motor from the rc-monster store. This will give you decent speeds and the temperatures shoudl stay down as well, depending on the gearing. With this set up, if you are on a tight bugdet, you can run dual 7 cell packs on each side of the chassis.

Why not just buy the ESC only? :032: Anywho, a MM ESC and a Feigao XL motor will only cost about the price of a complete MM setup. The only other things you will need are connnectors, pinions, and a UBEC. Thats given you have battteries.

Sorry, I was thinking that he had already bought the ESC and motor. I just reread his post, so now I know he doesn't have any of it yet.
