c-50 and master car wiring
It says in my hacker master car speed control instructions not to use the esc's on/off switch with 12 cells, to use a reciever pack and that on/off switch will turn on or off the esc, so do i just cut off the esc's switch? I never hear a beep to be able to program it, i assume that a current limiter is set as there is no torque at take off but quite a bit of top speed, am i safe to run with no current limit? Can I program it without the beeps? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Welcome!
If it isn't connected to the motor, you'll never hear any beaps. Probably they mean that the controller is not compatiple with 12 cells while you are using the esc's bec. Use a receiver pack and check it out. |
more info
it's connected in the e-maxx, no beeps, i do have a switched reciever pack, but the esc's on/off switch does nothing and confuses me, can i cut it off so I don't think about it? still curious if i can run with no current limit, thanks!

It is best to setup the current limiter as many people destoryed their hacker controllers in the past due to the fact that they did not limit the current to the motor.

I used to run a Hacker C50 and MasterCar Sport. They had two versions... one with built in BEC and one without (OPTO).
Either way, it's best to not use the built in esc. It's not quite as simple as cutting off the switch. Do this... remove the red wire from the reciever plug. This disables any built-in BEC. Then use a rx pack or other BEC device, powered off the main battery, to power the rx. You can use the esc swtich if you want... or you can cut it off and solder the wires together (permanently turned on). Also you can use another switch on the separate BEC device to switch on the rx... or you can leave it hardwired also. Without switches you simply unplug the main battery. It's a universal issue... not specific to the Hacker escs. |
You say the switch does nothing.... but it should power on/off the esc. Perhaps there is a broken wire/connection somewhere. That would explain the esc not working and the switch doing nothing. Try cutting the switch off and twisting/soldering the wires together.
It's been a long time since I ran my Hacker. I forget the programming/use procedures.... |
thanks glass doctor!
i thought i should pull the red wire going to the reciever, thanks for the info, now does anyone know about programming?
