hey i have a dual 700 revo right now and i can hit about 25mph (garmin gps sais so) and i kind of want more speed. would like around 40. i have the mm esc right now and was figuring i could just buy one of those 80 dollar feigao motors and a ubec and be able to reach 40mph. i use dual 3s1p a123 batteries so i would think this is possible. lmk if its not..

another question i have is...
right now my revo has the kershaw designs tranny setup... would the feigao bolt up right onto this? and if it wont then how will i bolt up the motor?

Since your existing motors look like your typical 540 bolt pattern motors, the Feigao should bolt right up. To be sure, I'd measure the screw hole centers. The Feigao motor mount holes are on 25mm center confirmed by Feigao.

If you're running effectively 6s1p A123 cells, I'd get an 8xl or 9xl. The A123 cells drop voltage substantially after a certain current (~45A?) so I'd try to get a motor that's a little easier on the batts, but that's just me. I'd sure someone will say you're fine with an 8XL.

I'm not sure about the Kershaw gears. At worst, you could try it with them, and if it doesn't hold up, you could get something else later like a Strobe slipper setup. Are the pinions 5mm bore?

Just save yourself some time and get the stock motor plate, Strobe slipper, and some mod1 pinions...

Should be able to get there, but some of that depends on the gearing of the Kershaw setup and the weight of everything...

that is true... but 35-40 is good speeds to me

If you really want the speed, I'd get the 8XL then. You may have to get a fan for the ESC though.

I vote 8xl.

I am almost positive that the motor hole spacing for the 700 motors is NOT the same as the 8xl. The 700 motors have a larger hole spacing, so you really need the stock motor mount.

I think a 9XL would be perfect for 6s A123's. Careful on the drivetrain, on 5s lipo, i'm busting trannies

well if im going to be spending 90 bucks on a motor i might as well spend the extra 30 for the lehner 5300 if its worth it

That motor would be spinning roughly 100k rpms...Enough to make the ESC spontaniously combust. Besides, that motor wouldn't even get the truck moving.
