UBEC Question

I just purchase a UBEC to use with my Shulze 18.97kw and Plettenberg MAXXimum. I plan on using 12 cells and maybe 14 cells later. My question is: Does the UBEC get hot under normal use? I'm wanting to put the UBEC in a plastic box with my JR receiver, so I need to know if heat is going to be an issue, before I bother building the box.

Thanks!

I have not noticed any abnormal temps on mine and I am running 28cells. I'd say barely gets warm. I will run it and take a temp reading for you if you want but i think you should be OK.

I agree with JOHNNYMAXXIMA. It get's handwarm on 14 cells, but I will check next time.

Actually, you can do it, not a problem, the UBEC is some kind of pulsating powersupply, it takes very little energy, and that's why it barely gets hot. Otherwise, they would have mounted a big heatsink on it too..
