MetalMan's brushless Revo is at it again...
With some backflips this time :).
I have two versions, one with music, and one without music. To me, the one with music is more enjoyable. Music: <embed style="width:400px; height:326px;" id="VideoPlayback" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=8004745057686140871&hl=en" flashvars=""> </embed> Non-music: <embed style="width:400px; height:326px;" id="VideoPlayback" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=8033562449959479307&hl=en" flashvars=""> </embed> |
The music was fine, and even if it wasn't, it's not like the volume can't be turned down. Although, I couldn't find the mute button for the cameraman. ;) :)

Hey! Nice video, BTW, how does the 5s2p A123 pack perform with the 7XL? I'll be using 5s2p A123, 7XL, and Quark. Do you have an eagletree graph of a typical run?

Yeah, the music does help drown him out a bit. However, he is better than no cameraman :).

Where are your tires boy!!!?

120 amps huh, quite a spike! 12.5 volts is actually pretty decent.
I want to get some Altair Nano "nanosafe" Lithium Ti cells. They claim 100C capability! Useless i know, but you would think if they have that capability, they should perform very well at the lower rates we drain at... they aren't generally available yet, is the prob. :030: When, i don't know. How does it compare with a 4s 4000mah LiPo pack? The average say... |
Nice vids MM. As for the 120A spikes, I believe that the spikes might even be higher. I don't have an eagletree, but was looking into getting one, until I realized that the max amps that it can handle/record is 100. From the posts I've read, I'll assume that it will actually do 120, but probably not an accurate max current reading if the spikes are over 120. If this is incorrect, please let me know. I'd like to get an eagletree, but if 120A is as high as it can go, I'll wait until I can afford a model that can go higher.

It's 100Amps continuous i believe. I think it should read as high as current as you can put through it until it blows up. It's just a heat issue i think, if you could mount it to a heatsink, the power throughput would most likely go up. It's mearly monitoring the power going through, there is no FET switching involved, so very little heat generated.

Nice!! Whoa Ho! :020:

Nice Travis. Next time go for some front flips too!
And for heavens sake, get that truck a body!! :) Daf |
AWSOME video Metal Man,Is 5s 123 cells same voltage as 5s Lipo, I'm thinking of buying the 540C 7XL for my maxamps 4s lipo and my quark 125 pro,What top speed can it reach without thermalling using it on a race track?
Are they the same power with my Hacker XL motors? |
nice video, did you change pinions when you put on the buggy tires? Is on-road performance better with the smaller tires?
|
Very cool video. I liked watching the one with no music. I love the sound f the car. It looked like you were hittign some decent speeds as well.

The A123 cells are rated at 3.3 volts nominal, but from my experience, they are more like 3.15 volts nominal. Depends what motor you are using, 5s2p can be faster than 4s LiPo, and sometimes not. The main benefit of them is you don't need voltage cut-off, very flat discharge profile (good for racing), and potentially 15 minute charge times (with the right supply). They are also very robust, durable, and are claimed to last 1000+ cycles, but we all know RC puts alot more stress on these batts. It has alot to do with the running temp more than the discharge rates for the A123's. Heck, i've had mine for a year now, all summer and fall I was running a dual 820 dewalt setup in a 12 lb rally car. They are still like new, retain almost the same mah rating, and i even shorted them out a couple of times by accident. |
nice thing about lipo's you can have more runtime (capacity) at the same weight.
