1512 Neu Motors Can Diameter
 

Hi all, on Neu Motors web site I found that the 1512 motors are available both in Smooth or Finned Case, but I can't figure out if there are differences in can diameter or if the are both of 1,56 inches.

IIRC, thats the finned case. I'm not at home right now or I'd measure my finned 1512 for you...

the finned has larger diameter thanks to fins that are about 2mm.

if using maxx transmission you can fit mod1 18T pinion with ease, 16 with bit fin dremmeling and 14T with very hard dremmeling. i did just the light one to fit 16T (all with use of strobe slipper with 51T ofna spur)

1.56" smooth can
1.73" Finned can

Fined cans are larger dia. because of the finns obviously.

Will the rc-monster heatsink fit on a Neu motor? so you don't have the gearing problem, but still have a heatsink.
1.56" is 39.6mm and I think the heat sink is for 36mm motors isn't it? So I'm guessing it won't fit.

No. It won't fot the neu. The neus run cool tough compared to a Feigao. You probably wouldn't need the heatsink.

From what I understand, the smooth can motor have non standard mounting hole spacing. I think that the holes are closer together. Can anyone confirm this?

No. They are standard. 1" or 25mm whatever you want to call it. It mounts right up to any standard motor mount.

Smooth and finned motors are both standard mounting patterns.

Well, that's good to know. I might just go with the smooth cans, to avoid any possible mounting problems due to space.
