Lehner 1940 ?

Whats up my friends :027: ?.

I have a quick ? i know it's not needed but can you use mike heatsink clamp on the 1940 to help cool it even more ?.

Gustav 04.06.2007 07:48 PM

the heatsink yeah, don't see why not.probably not the rear clamp though with the solder on the back.

^^^ +1. And you don't want to use carbon fiber either (conducts electricity). You'd have to use some kind of plastic or nylon...

Brian im lost what do you mean dont use CF :007: ?. Im talking about using mike's Al clamp.

BrianG 04.06.2007 07:56 PM

Yeah, the back of the 1940 (non hi-amp version) has those traces so you can rewire from D to Y. If you use the metal rear clamp, the metal will short those out.

Okay know i understand :032: . Sorry i did'nt understand what you meant eairler i went to PUBLIC SCHOOL :005: . I'm thinking i'll just use the heat sink it's self with no back bar.

Also what is the adyantage of rewireing from D to Y ?.

BrianG 04.06.2007 08:02 PM

That would work.

Re-wiring from/to D/Y changes the kv so you can run different voltages. D to Y reduces kv by a factor of 1.73.

THANK YOU :027: .

BrianG 04.06.2007 08:04 PM

No problem. :)

I think the back bar wont fit either way. The end bell of the 19 series makes it a bit hard to do it.

Just don't use the rear brace.. that's it.. CF is carbon Fibre bytheway.
