Maxxamps batts

I got a couple of questions for you guys.

1.) what kind of runtime would i be expecting to get on 2 5000mah maxamps batteries with my setup (very rough estimate) i was thinking about 20-25min.]
2.) can the ice charger charge these batts.
3.)aprox. how long does it take too charge one of these packs safely like at 5 amps.
4) what else do i need to have in order for charging to work, for example a balancer of some sort or some battery accesories.
5.) is there anything else i should know about these batteries

(my setup will be sometype of neu motor and this car(look on last page for newer pics) thanks guys

Hey, you know what, after looking at your new pic... it is going to be almost identical to mine! :027: Except for tires of course. :020:

About the batts, what setup are you running? I'm thinking about 20 mins generally though.

Your runtime is going to depend on what motor you get. Given a particular vehicle, the runtime usually goes down with the number of winds. I run an 8XL in my buggy and I get around 20 minutes with a 4900mAh pack.

I would say up to 20 mins? But I don't know, I have zero experience with Neu... someone else better cough up an estimate. Are you sure you don't want to use the 1515/1y? or even the 2.5d? Longer runtime, and more power prob.

BTW, where were you going to get that DX3? I live in Canada, and my hobby parts supplier (Greathobbies.com) has it for $280 CAD. But i was going to get the DX2 for my maxx.

Also, what wing kit is that you have? I just bought the Tekno wing kit from Mike.

GorillaMaxx360 04.14.2007 10:29 PM

to be honest i don't know what wing mount i have it is not tekno. i was told mugen or something like that works with that shock tower. when i went into the hobby shop i told him that and he recommended that i get a different wing mount system with a gs wing. I cant remember what the wing mounts where for but if i can remember correctly it was not something totally popular. i might have been something like a stormer hobbies, gs, or some other company that was not super big but they work. the only thing i do not like about them is they are really low so the top of the wing touches the body when the body is at its lowest position. i think the tekno wing is a bit higher though so it should look better than mine.

i have those batterys and charging thru the balancer it is about an hour

GorillaMaxx360 04.14.2007 10:30 PM

per battery
at what amps
on what charger

entjoles 04.14.2007 10:34 PM

per battery, and btw youll need a balancer, http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6131 this may help, its a good setup, but you already have the ice right

but i charge @ 5 amps (1c)

and i got 35 min of bashin , had to be easy on the finger, i also ran hard and they dumped in like 10 min so its easy waste power

what controller are you thinin about? you may be better off with a 4s battery to power it up

glassdoctor 04.14.2007 11:16 PM

I would guess you will see 20 minutes hard racing action... more if you are goofing around. It may actually be more 25 minutes or so. That's what I can get with my buggy. But I run a milder motor.. you have more gear reduction... and maybe a different driving style, so I'm not sure how it compares exactly.

Lipos will take a little over and hour to fully charge if it's dead... when you charge at 1c like you said...5A for a 5k ah pack
