how are bl t-maxxes?

hey guys i bought a supermaxx off ebay awhile back
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=018

and amthinking of making it brushless... i dont wanna start this project if its not worth it. but in my opinion this truck will be awsome even though its a t-maxx....(t-maxxes arent the main racing trucks is what im saying)

but lmk how this project will be.

im thinking 6s1p a123 cells and prolly a quark andneu motor. i plan to make this truck perfect.

AFAIK, the T/E share the same front/rear ends and suspension. So whatever you would do to an E, you'd do to a T. Don't know much about the tranny, might be easier to simply use an E tranny. Basically, it looks like people simply use an E to start since it's already electric.

Pretty much ANYTHING can be converted, it's just a matter of how much time and work you want to invest IMO.

well what would happen if i made a custom mount for the motor and just connected everything?not changing the tranny or anything. how would that work?

thanks

or get a flm e maxx chassis, and the tranny and its a e lol... but u might be able to drop in a e tranny

t-maxxracer32 04.23.2007 07:05 PM

well its just the point that i already have this truck and i think i got a good deal on it. i would have only spent 350 on the rolling chassis after selling the engine and everything that is not needed for gas. pretty good deal in my opinion so i figure i should just use it instread of buying everything else new.

will it work as a drop in replacement? (gas to electric) as far as the tranny goes...

thanks

idk, i dont think so tho, i think the t maxx trans is bigger, but idk

you can just make a motor mount and use the t-maxx tranny as it is,i fail to see why not,if you leave the tranny as it is you'd have to keep the mechanical brake(no bad thing) due to the one-way bearing in there.

If you don't want to fabricate anything then just drop an e-maxx transmission in there, should drop right in(e-maxx and t-maxx chassis rails are the same part so.....) .
The t-maxx has a shorter front drive shaft i think due to the brakes so you'll need a front drive shaft too if you go with an e-maxx transmission. Also e-maxx transmission outdrives are a different size too,6mm vs 5mm for the t-maxx.

Personally, a E tranny would be a wise choice. It would make things alot more simple. Gustav is correct as well, the E tranny will just drop right in.

You need a spacer in between tranny and chassis, but that is simple

t-maxxracer32 04.24.2007 01:39 AM

ya i will figure it all out once i start building it but i have alot to do before. so it will be a while. i just wanted to make sure this wasnt a waste of time..

but!

i have a racing revo coming in in about a week. vantage chassis all the good stuff. would that be a better deal?

thanks guys!
