Best street tires/wheels for speed trials

Hey guys,

I'm building a new e-maxx...straight for hardcore speed...and would like some advice on what tires would be best for pavement speed trials.

I was looking at the GRP Big Park but would really like opinions from other drivers of high speed monster trucks.

Here is a link to the big park tire:

The best thing to do IMO is get some Proline roadrages and use some really strong and sticky duct tape on the inside of the tire. Clean the tire very well first so the tape sticks.

Thanks. I have a set of the road rage tires for my current maxx. They are good, but even with the tape they are a little soft. What kind of tape did you use?

u could try hpi flat lines i think they are, i think jhonny maxxima uses them on his dual bl maxx

I didn't use them on a Maxx, but I used regular duct tape. It held pretty well, but after a month or so, the tape let go. There is gorilla tape that is supposed to be better, but I'm not sure.

Imex Maxx foams are the ticket for road running. They will far outlast any rubbber tires for purely street use(great for emaxx drifting, too). They are a bit expensive($40 pair premounted to rims), but they will outlast any other tire on the tarmac 3 to 1 or more. They will require taller gearing, as they are only 4.25" tall(when new, they wear down to around 3").

Thanks Mike. I have a set of IMEX crawler tires...and they are sweet. I'll have to check into the foams.
