Futaba M24 OR Spektrum DX2.0
I NEED A NEW RADIO NOW!!! The pictures speak for themselves, if you have ever experienced this with the stock TQ-3 radio!? :035: :mad:1 :mad:1 :mad:1
http://picasaweb.google.com/SethHulsebosch/RCPhotos Check you the pics of the $HIT Integy bulkhead, OMG, they are such garbage! You said it Serum! And here is what happened! :005: |
Go with the DX3R or Nomadio React.
|
Those kinda out of my price range at the moment, and the moment is ALL i have to get a new radio. I only have ~150 feet range, and it up and decides that it wants to give the esc full throttle and turn....:035: :035:
Is these anything particular that you can say about the new Futaba 3PM M24, or the Spektrum dx2.0? $250 CAD MAX thanks |
Actually, the Spektrum DX2.0 is on back order until May.
I don't care for a fancy radio, as long as i have good range, good steering response, and NO GLITCHES! |
i use the dx 2.o and love it!
theres also the jr radio with specktrum for around that the same price i think |
I have a newer DX2.0 and an older DX3, and I like them well enough. There isn't a whole lot of adjustment with them, but they have been solid performers. I have had friends moving to the Futaba system because they felt that the Spektrum systems didn't have enough range. I haven't found this to be the case at all. Just don't fool yourself into thinking that the Spektrum is glitch proof, because it isn't. I have found that going to an external bec on all of my cars has stopped all of the problems that I was having. Just watch out for radio interference on your setup.

havent had one glitch yet!
|
Yes, i have a UBEC.
Do you mean the Futaba 3PM-M24 radio? What kind of range is the Spektrum? Would you recommend the Futaba? |
longer, father then i can see my cyclonne with a mm lol... same with the flm pede.....i debut u will EVER get to the spektrum limit imo, plus it has a fail safe anyways if u drive that dang far

All of my comments are about the Spektrum, as I've never owned the Futaba.
If anyone is running a Spektrum system and has NEVER had a problem, they are lucky. I don't think that there's anything out there that is going to be 100% problem free. The problem that I was having was the the internal bec on my controllers was apparently cutting the power to the receiver for very short periods of time (probably due to over heating) and everytime the bec cut power to the receiver, it would reboot. The apparently takes a lot longer to reboot than most receivers and the truck/car would be out of control until the receiver came back on line. I've also bent more than one chassis on a nitro car because the Spektrum stopped responding and the failsafe didn't work like it was supposed to. Maybe you won't have any trouble, I'm running in a urban area where that is more potential for interference. If you are running in a more rural or even sub urban area, you may not have any troubles at all. All in all, I still like the spektrum the best, although the nomadio systems look appealing. I tried a a JR FM synthesis system and that made me want to throw it on the ground and stomp on it. I don't think that the Spektrum is as trouble free as some would like to believe, but I do still like it the better than anything else I've tried. Just don't rely on it to be foolproof, until you've tried it out in your system. |

ur only prob there is no cap, u need to buy a specktrum cap and hook it in any empty slot, and that will equlize the voltage when the speedo does that, and yes i aggree it takes a bit to boot up, but with a cap theres no probs:018: |

Do you mean when the power gets cut to the reciever? I could just solder a cap up myself with a plug on it, if that will prevent that from ever happening. I have wanted the Spektrum for a long time, since it was released. It's just on back-order hell right now. :035: I'll ponder if I want to wait a couple weeks. |
like a power big spike or amp draw..something where the bec cant supply the right amount of voltage for a sec, then the specktrum has to boot back up, which he is saying in that time his car is WOT... idk hasnt happened to me... but idk what/how u would do ur cap, someone else can say there

what? i don't understand |
lol
just when theres a ton of power i need and the motor sucks it all, so after its under whatever voltage the spektrum needs it shuts off, its alot different then a stock radio it needs power, and it has to boot up and get connected to the tx and then it all works.. make sense? |
