fan question

hey guys,

i like my electronics to run cool so i was thinkin about putting a fan on my esc and was wondering how you guys hook your fans up and what type of fans do you use? i have a couple of 12v fans and was wondering if i could wire em up to my emaxx some how. wont they fry?

You can use whatever fan you want really. If you want to get a 5v fan, you can run it off your UBEC. If it's 12v, you can run it off your main batteries. However, running a 12v fan on a higher voltage will reduce its lifespan; the higher the voltage, the shorter its life since the fan circuits get warmer faster. Also, higher voltage will spin the fan faster. Some people put two identical fans in series to split the voltage. It really depends on your setup.

What voltage are you running? 12 cells, 14 cells, Ns lipo?

im running 12 cells so ...

Then, you should be OK. That's only 14.4 nominal. A little overvolted, but not too bad.
