My First E-Revo
Heres 1 day of work for my Revo. Most of that time was messing in the tranny.
I'm gonna run the wire and put the connectors on the for motor, esc and batteries next. I'm trying to keep all the electronics on the motor side. ESC mounted up above the rear shocks. The right side, I'm going to remove the carbonfiber and make almost the same thing except I'm going to extend it to the next chassis mount at the rear shocks. That should be the perfect size for a Flightpower 4900 4s1p. I was thinking of upgrading to a single steering servo, but it looks like I will have plenty of room to run the stock 2 servos... and save some cash. I need ideas for mounting the ESC. Picks would be awesome. Any pics? I want it over the rear shocks, near or on the wing post. Also for this quark 125b, does the heatsink go on the front or the rear of it? I wanna thank Shark413 he just built the same thing pretty much. I stole his stock motor mount mod. :) Also AAngel for the help with lipos. I could use some gearing suggestions too... I forgot to get a pinion when I ordered the motor... :031: Here she is,... http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r...0/Erevo001.jpg http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r...0/Erevo002.jpg http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r...0/Erevo003.jpg |

Trick440, looks nice, great start.. here are some pictures of three different places I mounted the ESC. Also, what motor mount are you using? Does it utilize the stock nitro motor mount? I originally used the mount without the stock nitro mount and I encountered some flex between the motor and chassis. I am currently using the long rear plate to mount the ESC, because it reinforces the rear body mount. But I really like the small plate, because of the access it allows to the rear shocks. I will probably use a separate brace (to the chassis) for the rear body mount and use the small plate for the ESC with an addition cross brace to keep it from moving around (rotating around the post).
http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...iddlempunt.jpg Here is the ESC mounted up front. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...rk413/post.jpg I added a small post to the chassis to mount my ESC in the rear. Also notice I am using the stock nitro motor mount under my brushless motor mount, this setup is very strong. I had to mill the nitro mount flat for it to work. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...smallplate.jpg At first I used a small rear plate, which allowed good access to the shocks. But it didn't hold the ESC in place, after some laps around the track, I noticed it had moved around slightly, since it only has one point of attachment to the chassis. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r.../rearmount.jpg Then I went with a full lenght plate which also reinforced the rear body mount. The issue is access to the rear shocks is limited. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...rmountfull.jpg Early rear mount. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...motormount.jpg Since my original motor mount didn't have a rear support I added a few extra holes to use more screws to secure the motor to the mount. |
well I had a question but i found the answer...
Shark I got the same mount as you... I modded it just like you did with the stock revo mount |
