50mph B emaxx

Today I have the time to play with my 6s Lipo max amps 8000mah with my wanderer 12 XL put my EPA in my Mx3 transmitter to 140% throttle and my bobmproof emaxx hit 51.20 mph on a large parking lot using a 23mm proline badlands with duct tape inside to prevent it from ballooning ,next time i will post a video :018:

Sick!

Pics please, I would like to get some ideas for mounting lipos on my bombproof chassis.

luvsrc 04.29.2007 07:35 PM

Sure man I will post it once i got home tonight

jnev 04.29.2007 07:38 PM

Wow, very fast. Didn't know the 12xl can hit such high speeds even if it was on 6s.

6s Lipo 8000mah- how many volts is that exactly / Kv rating of the 12XL?
I want to see the pics/video too, Im really starting to get excited about running my truck properly for the first time....

with proper gearing and putting my EPA throttle to 140% makes a big difference. Here is some pics

luvsrc 04.29.2007 08:19 PM

6s lipo = 22.2 volts but actually it is more than that more like about 24 volts on full charge

luvsrc 04.29.2007 08:38 PM

1390rpm/volt is the rating for the wanderer 12 XL , so 33,360 RPM on 24 volts

MetalMan 04.29.2007 10:33 PM

At full throttle the cells might drop down to about 3.4-3.5v, which is 20.4-21v.

cadima 04.29.2007 10:45 PM

what is point of adjusting the throttle EPA to 140%? thx

gixxer 04.29.2007 10:48 PM

He just set his epa all the way to make sure he was hitting full throttle. he probably normally has the epa turned down to make the truck more controllable.

I discovered interesting on EPA at 100% it spins like a 12XL should spin on 6s lipo but put it all the way to 140%,it spins very fast a lot faster than 100% like a turbo boost ,can someone explain this?

suicideneil 04.30.2007 07:03 AM

It puzzles me somewhat that a motor rated at about 4000KV & 14.4v will spin at upwards of 40,000 rpm, yet a motor rated for 2000KV & 24v will only spin at about 30,000rpm- but its much more powerful & moves truck faster..... The difference in torque is the key obviously- a 'slower' motor will run a truck faster because its a longer can, and the # of turns affects it too- more turns equals more torque+less current draw I think? Its all somwwhat bewildering but I think Im getting the hang of it now....

jollyjumper 04.30.2007 09:09 AM

well, the novak hv-maxx may spin fast, but it is geared around 22/1 i think.
while a 30k rpm xl spins slower but is geared like 15/1 or so.
that means the truck can go faster.
take a peek with brian's calculator.

I read it like he upped the throlle EPA above the programmed 100%. Anyone else have experience with this?
