Which should I go with?

Hi, Guys..

Me and my friends are going to open up a new on road track specified for electric onroaders only and I want to eat them up during the race.

Now that I'm going to have a clean track, I'm thinking about buying a new touring car.

My eyes are set on two cars.

One is a belt driven electric, the other is a high end nitro machine which if I buy, I'll convert it to brushless with Mike's help.

The electric one is X-Ray's T2'007 EU edition.

The Nitro is Kyosho's V-ONE RRR EVO WC edition.

Thanks!

Alawi El-Jifri :)

I would go for the Kyosho. I have not had experience with either, but my guess would be that the belt driven X-ray may not be strong enough to handle serious brushless power.

I also think the kyosho would just be stronger due to the fact of it being originally designed to take the abuse of nitro.

I'm not much of an onroad guy (except with offroad vehicles with onroad tires), but I voted for the Kyosho. It should have more room for batteries, which could come in handy if you ever wanted to do some very fast speed runs :).

I voted for the Xray, because being electric its more efficient in design. I'm lazy by nature and nitro conversions, to me, are nice but too time consuming. Please don't think i hate them, just like electrics better, except for my G2R

Interesting.

I need some more people to vote.

Also,

WHERE'S MIKE?!!!

A4DTM 05.01.2007 11:01 PM

well I voted kyosho, simply because of the nitro drive train.. and it's always fun to see other's conversions. but, that makes 3 of us that voted kyosho, but there's only 2 votes kyosho in the poll???

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

moore speed wce cyclone!!!!! thats kicking everyones ass!!! when there all set up right, there WAAY faster then the xrays, there more money, but u get what u pay for!

jollyjumper 05.02.2007 02:33 AM

of those two, one isnt correctly built for electric racing.

a nitro has different geometry wich isnt suited to electric touring drivin style.
( yes, it is different style of driving )
maybe on foams it works but not on rubber.

also, an xray is a very strong car.
but if you want the absolute best performance, you may wanna get a newer car.
like the new tamiya 415msxxx, or the HB cyclone wce.

byby, mike.

BlackedOutREVO 05.02.2007 02:36 AM

yes, xray is the budget end racer, along with the tc5, corrally, and schuey, those are all under 400 bucks, cyclone just cyclone got cheap at stormer i think, 250 for the old kit, i did the moore speed cuz its the newest, purple is sweet, and i had money to do top of the line for once

jollyjumper 05.02.2007 02:41 AM

xray is by no means budget minded, its just affordable performance.
and it still kick's major @$$.

FYI a completely hopped up X-Ray T2'007 machine would easily top 800 dollars without electronics and motor. It's aluminum steering blocks, up rights and the other options are simply astonishing and they're all made of pure high quality 7075 T6 aluminum.

If I'm gonna get the XRay or the Cyclone, my setup is every single hop up with a TrackPower, 1920/4 and a R1 PRO controller.

If I'm gonna get the Kyosho, I'll first ask Mike to convert it and then put in a 1930/5 with 3s FP Evo30 and a R1 Pro controller. This one will ROCK!!! and it won't even cost me as much as the electric ones.

I just did not decide yet which to take.

I'll have to consider the Cyclone, too. It's truely an awsome machine, indeed...:)

captain harlock 05.02.2007 06:11 PM

Bought the X-Ray!!!:)

GorillaMaxx360 05.02.2007 06:15 PM

i would go with the xray because it looks amazing and it drives better than it looks and it has dominated every onroad champion ship for a good time.

1bhutch 05.02.2007 07:58 PM

xrays are better beacuse they are already desinged to hold the elecs and it will lock more "factoryish"

squeeforever 05.02.2007 09:22 PM

Personally, I would have went with the Moore Speed, but the X-Ray is the next best thing...
