Suggestion for BL GST 7.7?
Okay guys, Lehner probably won't warrant my fried 2280... What do you guys think would be a nice power plant for GST 7.7? Maybe the 2280 was an over kill. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated. Anyone wants to buy a rotor for a 2280? :):005:

How heavy is it? a 1950 on high voltage is very capable already,i never got my 10 turn above 110F in the LST on 7s.what controller and batteries we talking about?
|
2240 or 2250 if you still want to be extreme :).
|
it's 18.50LBs with 8S 3700 LiteStorms, MGM 24.160 w/ 2 40mm fans.. 2280 motor w/ 2 40mm fans... that's the weight with everything.. I'm afraid of the 19"
series because I've never seen any vids of them powering a heavy truck like this.... my setup's about 1.0Lbs heavier than the Stock Nitro version... I'll probably be goin' 8S 5000 Mah FlightPowers or 8S 5000 MaxAmp packs....I think my next motor should be around 1100 - 1200 kv rating?.. Does that sounds good?.. because I had the 2280 5 Turn Hi-Amp version.. it was 1480 kv/ rating... The shear torque from that 2280 was such a good feeling... I don't want to lose that :) |
I'm A little lost here, so please don't mind me changing the subject a little. Why would a 2280 burn out? Was it underpowered/undergeared? Was the truck not big/heavy enough for it, If so, why would that cause it to burn out?

I know... I don't know.. wires were tight... nothing was loose... the windings must have been rubbing on the rotor and screwed it up.... It must be lehner's fault.... I stayed within specs... I always test it with my Amp meter... etc... 2280 was wicked in that GST 7.7 though.. I'll take some pictures.. to show you guys...

Have you atleast contacted Lehner or Mike to see if they can do anything for you?
|
Mike can't really do anything... I'm waitin' for a reply from Lehner.. maybe I can just buy a new stator/can? Are there any other motor, that is US/Canadian manufactured that is the same power/dimension as the 2280?... Have anyone tried the Neu Motors 2215 yet?... they max out at 30000 rpm....
