Neu 1506-1Y with a MM esc?
 

I found a great deal on a Neu 1506 5500kv motor and I'm going to run it in my CRT.5 with a Mamba Max esc has anyone tried the smaller Neu's with the MM esc? I'm hopeing I wont have the cogging problem like I did with the full size CRT and a 1515 motor. :032:

u could always put 4 more caps on the esc like i think its aangel, he said his neu in his 8ight doesnt cogg

but this lil guy is also less then half the wight

I did put caps on the MM, but I'm not running a Neu. Glassdoctor (among others I'm sure) is running a Neu on a MM. I don't know if he's done the "cap" mod yet.

In any case, this may or may not be pertinent; but I was told my Frank at Quark, that the Neu motors do really well with the Quark controller. He said that the Neus seem to like the Quarks timing, which I believe he said was a 6 degrees. I wonder if the Neu might run better with the MM, if you ramped up the timing on the controller.

the MM controllers need an update to switch between slotted and non slotted motors. now they are set to non slotted motors, and the Neu motors are slotted.

Sooooo...is that the issue then. I hope they fix that soon.

I'm hoping with the lighter weight almost 6lb's lighter then my CRT it will work Well see if not I think I might be able to use the Quark 80amp esc with the 1506 motor if cogging is an issue? I'm very curious to see what the diference is going to be between the 5500kv Neu and the 5700kv Mamba?

I dont know what the deal is at Castle there air ESC's have the option to switch between slotted and un slotted motors why is it taking so long to get an update for the MM esc's.:007:

I think we all saw them on ebay already. I was really tempted to pick up that 1512 2y but already ordered another feiago a few days earlier. I did order the 1521 to try in a truggy though.

I thought they were not even going to bother with the update? IIRC, that's what I heard around here?

Adding caps like AAngel did to his MM will prob make a big difference as to what a MM can run, and is capable of.

The caps have to do with the controllers, but yes, I'm sure it would make a difference in what motors you can run.

LOL there going fast now I almost got the 1521 motor for a light weight large scale speed car I have oh well you saved me 275 bucks LOL

I just couldn't pass up the 1506 motor for 135 though It is almost the same size as the as the Mamba Max motor and a loaded 5500kv vers unloaded? some say MM 5700kv I need to get some good data in the eagletree with the Mamba and compare it the the Neu see if it is really worth it to spend the extra money on a high end motor? :032:
