My BL Conversions (Muggy & CRT.5)
What do you guys think? Im sure that you will be able to find the RC Monster stuff on them. All I need on the CRT.5 is a antenna mount. :026:
E muggy (look for the water drops in the body)- http://i9.tinypic.com/6f4tc15.jpg http://i14.tinypic.com/6c7fiih.jpg http://i14.tinypic.com/63wrt4x.jpg http://i11.tinypic.com/66lopvo.jpg http://i8.tinypic.com/62370hh.jpg http://i13.tinypic.com/6gx9ule.jpg CRT.5 http://i13.tinypic.com/52wg8cp.jpg http://i8.tinypic.com/4xo28ns.jpg http://i10.tinypic.com/4lddg2f.jpg |
Cool. Looks like a father/son truck team. :)

Gah, 2 Brians to contend with! Welcome over here dude, liking the crt.5 job, very clean looking. Had a chance to run it yet or is sir saving that for a video-spectacular? Either way, cant wait to see the little thing tearing up the road/dirt/track....
|
Ive ran the emugg. That thing is a beast with 5s :018:. The crt.5 I need the antenna mount so that the coax antenna is not flopping around loose.
|
Its always the little things that can stop a project dead in its tracks isnt it... hehe, never mind. Well, good luck for when you do get it 100% done- just look out for obstacles jealous of its brilliance that want to hurt it!
|
Very nice conversions. The layout is very clean on both, especially the CRT.5. I like that carbon fiber plate on top holding the esc... good thinking!
|
Emuggy, if you start to hear your diffs clicking, you're going to need to upgrade to the aluminum diff cases in the front and rear. It's what I ultimately had to do.
Nice job on the conversions. The .5 is what I want to do next. |
Hey -I know that .5 from somehwere :027:
Keep up the good work. Just curious as to what's in the bright blue shrinkwrap in front of the battery in the Muggy. UBEC? |
nitros.
J/K, Its a UBEC. I have a 2s 1000mah lipo below it. Some of the extra cabling is from the series lipo connector that I made so it looks worse than it really is. If I can wrap up the last vid Ill post some of the other pics on my main forum. But, you cannt have a work in progress vid after finished (or near at least) pics! Its just not right! But, since this place has helped me out with getting the quark, pinions, the crt.5 motor mount, and the e-mugg's heatsink...well, its only right to post some pics as well! The carbon fiber sheets from FullforceRC really came in handy as well. Where I would have normally cut alum to munt stuff to I was able to use 3mm CF. Which saves weight and I think that its easier to cut (though riskier). I did run it last night in the house (CRT). It cogged like no tomorrow with the 7700 in it! A couple of setting changes on the pc and its as smooth as butter. Of course, it also hurts when it hits the ankles!!! I just dont want to run the chance of hurting the coax on the 2.4ghz fasst receiver so Im going to save speed and outdoor trials for when i get that mount. I think that I might regret not getting the 4600 (or a second one at least) but... Ill make this work Also, better pics of the emuggy's water drop body- http://i16.tinypic.com/42sec1g.jpg http://i17.tinypic.com/2qvwn5d.jpg http://i17.tinypic.com/3ygl1yf.jpg |
Looking good! Can't wait to see more after you finish it up!
|
Its been awhile!
I finally got all of the bugs worked out (issues with the rx power and grinding the wheel hubs down a tad in the rear) and got it movin and shakin like it needed! I took a vid of it that was more of a demonstration of the bl/lipo power of a conversion. If the weather gets a little better here then I want to do a good full speed run down vid of it. The other one is for the micro-t and was for fun on a rainy day. The music does have some language in it so mute it if you have little ones around. I think that most will like the micro t trying to pull the emugg and the emugg spinning its tires on the little guy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIxjOLUf6qw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoujUqgyaPU Anyways, since I know that this place is up and running again I will be back on. If the powers that be like, I can do my upcoming Mini MGT build over here and over at the forum I admin on. |
You dont need to ask permission to do that- we love seeing new stuff being built or converted! Anyways, I never realised the micro-t was so tiny- talk about david vs goliath....
|
Neither did I!!! The day I got it we lost power and I was home alone for about 4 hours. For 4 hours I ran that little thing non-stop jumping candles and everything else. It was dark so the vid never came out.
It has some flaws in it and I have a box of stuff that Im going to throw on it and make it into a project truck. Im still missing a few things for it and there is a project that noone else has done to their micro that I will be presenting and beta testing for another company. But, that is going to be something for another board. My next nitro conversion is going to probably be the Mini MGt and I know that I will be putting it on the site that I admin on and will probably post the how to and progress stuff over here as well. I eventually sold the CRT.5. It was a good conversion but it did not handle anywhere near as well as the muggy does. The muggy is just completely awesome! |
Mount
Who made that mount? (the Muggy) I need one!
|
Wow, Both conversion's look nice!
